Saw an article from Detroit that showed the World Cup lines for Team North America. Eichel with Johnny Hockey and Saad...pretty potent.

Drouin penciled on top line w/ McJesus. Deserved?

Matthews on wing line 4/ maybe 13th forward. Lol.

I really try and separate out how I feel about a guy personally and how they play for the team. Kane can / should be a major catalyst for the Sabres, but personally, he's dead to me. My best-case scenario is he has a productive year and gets shipped out for close to cost at the deadline before his deal is up.

Possibly Chicago?

I love Toews (as I'm fairly certain you're well aware) and think he's the best choice there for Captain, but is he really their "best" player? It's at least somewhat debatable.

long time no see but yea im well aware

It is certainly debatable, Toews and Chara are 2 interesting ones for me. You could make the case that they were the best at the time they were named captain.

Wonder if there's a 1 for 1 deal out there they could entertain.

I seriously must not be a typical woman, because I do a pretty good job of throwing my own crap out.

The part of my brain I used to devote to coming up with plausible trade scenarios has been renovated into calculating interest amortizations and how to cook a quiche. If he straightens-up he should fetch a good return. But shopping him now would, unfortunately, be a terrible move.

For Chara, I absolutely agree.

But I think at the time Toews was named, it's very easy to say that Keith could have been considered the best on the team at the time. Again, it all depends on how you look at it.

Really, Toews is much more a catalyst for that team than a casual fan would realize, which is why I say it's very much debatable.

We were going through her closet when we were packing and found a ton of crap from high school.

I told her pretty simple. The people we knew in High School that we still care about we talk to all the time even living down here, throw the rest of that crap out.

But she's very sentimental and obviously I knew that so I can't push too hard.

I think we're all heading in the same direction, but the issue would always circle over how you define who the "best" player is.

What is being measured in defining "Best"?

Bills signed WR Brandon Tate, formerly of the Bengals.
It only took Tate a few days to resurface after getting cut by the Bengals. The Bills are painfully thin at receiver behind Sammy Watkins but Tate probably won't move the needle much on offense. He should emerge as the Bills' primary return specialist, replacing injury-prone veteran Reggie Bush.

nothing like bringing in more trash to heap.

If little Gronk gets hurt there will be plenty of FBs out there to sign.

No need for 2 on the roster, one could argue there really isn't a need for 1 anymore.

I haven't checked but just saying it shouldn't be the reason you give them the C. That is one element of it but there are more important things to look at.

Listen, we just agree to disagree on this subject. ROR is captain material in my view. You see it differently.

- mhp

Completely agree, RoR is the next Captain and deserves to be. Media says he's the first on and last to leave the ice. Even Eichel talked about it in a recent interview with Hamster. He holds himself accountable for not pulling out a win in interviews after games. He's the leader and should be the captain when Gionta is done.
