I don't think Kane will re-sign here. If you get a vet LW for Kane in a trade you do it. He's worn out his welcome here. And I like EK and the way he plays but I gotta think his teammates are sick of this stuff he's done.

I love Toews (as I'm fairly certain you're well aware) and think he's the best choice there for Captain, but is he really their "best" player? It's at least somewhat debatable.

I haven't checked but just saying it shouldn't be the reason you give them the C. That is one element of it but there are more important things to look at.

It only took Tate a few days to resurface after getting cut by the Bengals. The Bills are painfully thin at receiver behind Sammy Watkins but Tate probably won't move the needle much on offense. He should emerge as the Bills' primary return specialist, replacing injury-prone veteran Reggie Bush.

I like Kane as our #1 LW. With Nylander coming on board next season, the Sabres could be set up nicely for years, assuming they resign Kane. However, this will depend on Kane only having 2 beers at the bar and leaving them by 11 pm.

Agreed, I figured my view on this would be met with a fair bit of criticism and I accept that. Perhaps I just see the role differently but I understand there are solid reasons for wanting ROR as captain.
