So has anyone watched all the McDavid goals from last year? I think only 3-4 were impressive where as 15+ of Eichels goals were impressive.

If you have not watched McDavids goals, watch them and then comment. Eichel is every bit a star as McDavid. Every star comes in a different form, where I think McDavid is a flashy star (with his moves) and Eichel is the minimalist that beats you with smarts and strategic "simple" moves..

My only problem with Eichel is he would be silent for most the night but then turn it on for a bit, hope he can be more consistent. But I am taking about a 19 year olds rookie coming from college schedule where they play half as many games with more rest between, so I think he will improve on that for sure.

Most of McDavids goals he was in the right position and the puck popped free for him to score. Where most of Eichels goals were perfectly placed shots, some which the play did not look dangerous at all and then it's in the back of the net.

I'll just say this about Kane again ........ what he brings to the ice is EXACTLY what has been lacking on this team for quite some time. I love watching him play and wish we had 5 more just like him. What trouble he gets in at a bar is completely irrelevant to me.............. and I cannot stress "completely" any more.

I'm doing pretty well. Same as you, busy summer. The cottage wasn't the same without you guys stopping by! It was pretty quiet there this year.

The main thing that makes McDavid look so much more impressive is his speed. I'm not saying Eichel is slow, because he's not even remotely slow. But McDavid is ridiculously fast. Though that may be part of what lead to the injury for him this year. You get taken out going that fast and slam into the boards like he did, you're bound to injure something.

Both guys are going to be a ton of fun to watch for a very long time.

I Will be rooting for the kids' team at the World Cup for sure. Normally I cringe at our star players being in tourneys due to injury potential, but I think the experience will be great for Jack, and seeing how that team stacks up against the competition will be the best story line in the whole thing.

I agree McDavid's speed is impressive, but also stick handeling at those top speeds.

Did you watch McDavids goals from last year, most were not that impressive. I mean a goal is a goal, but most of Eichel's goals left your jaw dropped.

I can't wait to watch these games too. But are you saying Eichel will have an actual NHL winger? Cause I did not hear Moulson would be on that team, haha, he has had bottom 6 (bottom 3?) wingers most of the year last year. (besides Reinhart at the end of the year)

Yeah, Jack centering Gaudreau and Saad should be awesome. If their goaltending holds up I think the kids have a good shot....and their goalie just won the Cup a couple months ago.

Seeing that, I hope Saad and Eichel dont tear it up, cause I will be mad we did not trade for Saad last year. Price was "low" too.

He did start to look to pass more, they were still off line and nowhere near the right touch. Zero offensive prowess, wouldn't be able to find open ice on Lake Erie in January. He replaced Zhitnik for greatest Sabre of all time to shoot high and wide of the net. Mix that with his stupid off ice shenanigans and you get a player I can't stand. He sucks. Oh, and if you're down a goal late in the 3rd, keep him on the bench. Unless you plan on tying the game with a shortie.
- Hatboro_Swords

I mean, I don't know if that's fair. He did have 20 goals last year. I'm not saying he's the smartest player on the ice or even top half of that but he isn't as bad as that. He's somewhere in the middle.

I'm just glad we have him for 2 years and I'm also glad we only have him for 2 more years. He's a good player for right now but if he was signed long term with the way his play and off-ice life is it'd be tougher to swallow. We will need to find a replacement soon, however, and one that is in addition to Nylander.

Anybody who says we got screwed by having to "settle" for Eichel is crazy. McDavid is awesome, I get it, but Jack wins the cup first

Buffalo Bills

The Bills will start the season 0-4.

Crazy? Consider that the Bills must play a tough opening-weekend game at Baltimore, then host the Jets on short rest, then play two of the final four teams from last season (the Cardinals and the Patriots), and 0-4 seems possible. Without Marcell Dareus, Reggie Ragland and Shaq Lawson, the Bills will have to find ways to plug holes on defense and avoid falling far behind early in the season. If they finish the first quarter of the season winless, coach Rex Ryan will need to dig out of a monumental hole to finish the season with a winning record and allow him to rest easy about his job security. -- Mike Rodak

That team is going to be built on winning special teams. Literally their chances depend on cashing in on the powerplays.

That's a hot take. It's hard to win a cup. It's feasible that neither one ever wins it. I feel it's not even as much about them but the cast around them. You know they're both going to be great players and get big goals and play well but if the teams can't help them it means nothing. It's the Penguins v the Capitals. Only recently has Washington really built that team with quality players that can go the distance and even then it's not easy to win.

That was his point (I think) that it is team around them and Edmonton is a tire fire. Hall for Larsson? What? If we traded Reinhart for Larsson, would we not say that was a huge step backwards? Granted, they do have forwards to sub in there, but that was a bad trade.

Love this part. I hear it all the time. Bills have a short rest, they have a quick turnaround, going to be tired. Forgot that the Jets have a bye week 1 so they won't be tired too, right? They're spending all of this week and next week focusing on the Bills, right?

Bills will start 2-2. Will beat Baltimore and the Jets, lose to Arizona, and then lead the game in NE for about 5 minutes before getting stomped.

There's 11 games on the schedule that aren't automatic losses. Bills likely win 6 of those and then also win 1 of the games that we expect to be an automatic loss.

I don't think it's a tire fire over there. That was a bad trade but their roster isn't bad.
Lucic-McDavid-Eberle
Pouliot-Nuge-Puljujarvi
Hendricks-Draisitl-Yak?

Sekera-Larsson
Klefbom-Ference
Nurse-Fayne

Talbot

They have 3 scoring centers, at least 2 wingers who can put up points, 2 potential good defensemen in Larsson and Nurse, and a goalie that a lot of us here wanted. 2nd year of McDavid, an addition on their weakness of defense, a solid goaltender, they won't be the worst team in the league this year. Their biggest issue is they're in the West but they have a few good things going for them.

it would not surprise me if the bills went 12-4 this year

I don't think the cardinals are that great, only certain loss I see is on the road to seattle

Bills' OT Seantrel Henderson is facing a four-game suspension for violating substance abuse policy, per NFL source. Under appeal.

Bills' OT Seantrel Henderson's pending substance-abuse suspension is related to a treatment he received for his Crohn's disease.
