You might be right but at least they have won the cup. I don't think Claude has a shot. Unless you believe flyer fans about their endless prospect pool. - Bobd62
...they do have a very good prospect pool, possibly top 5 in the league... |

Think a swap for Ryane Clowe gets is done? - Mr.Bobby
Dunno, TVR is an interesting proposition. What I heard earlier this summer is they were looking at a D for D swap: TVR for John Moore.
Hawks don't really need more D after signing Campbell and Kempny though. What the Hawks need is a top 6 LW—or someone who can atl east skate with Toews and Hossa and make some space. Does TVR alone get that done? Mmmmm dunno, likely not.
What he is: a smart, stable guy who can shoot the the puck and play either side, and cost-certain at 900K.
What he isn't: athletic enough to be anything more than a #5 on a lot of teams, maybe a #4 in a pinch with the right partner.
If you were looking to add quality, versatile depth at a low cap hit—nice add. |

The trade would be more of a each guy goes home to play.
TVR is 35 mins from his hometown playing in Newark and Moore grew up outside of Chicago. Talent wise Moore can skate and has O ability, TVR plays both sides as noted and looks like hes learning with each gamme |

That may be true but the only one who made an impact so far is ghost.they have talked up their prospects for years now and until they make an impact they are just that. Prospects and I'm willing to bet flyer fans will be the first to come down on ranger fans if vesey is a bust. They are the ultimate hypocrites. |

Can I just clarify the rumour please?
Are you saying there is a cap strapped team with good Dmen going to give the Devils the players - ala the Hawks & Bruins?
Or,
Are you saying that there's going to be a last minute move of Dmen to the Devils?
So it's actually time related moves (ie: last minute), or cap restraints moves?
I was under the impression the Ducks aren't close to the cap itself, just their internal self imposed cap? Are the Blues in cap trouble?
Fowler, Lindholm & Shats.
My ketchup bottle whispered to me this morning, it said Shero will Aquire a Dman with picks or prospects but no roster player. The little bastard wouldn't tell me any names though. So can either of the aforementioned Dmen be had with picks &/or prospects as per my source?? - Aussiepenguin
The Blues were in cap trouble if Backes wasn't going to budge, which he didn't. Unloading Shattenkirk would only help. They still don't have any money to spend, but Schwartz signed longterm for a discount, Bouwmeester's contract will likely be gone soon, and Steen is either going to have to sign short term for less money (because he's slowing down) or they'll let him walk.

Not happening. Ivan, Sam,Travis and Shayne are the keys to the Flyers resurgence. I can't wait to see them all in orange and black (without the gold). I think three of those might see time in the gold jersey though. Shayne will, Ivan and Sam may. I wouldn't be shocked if an injury late in the season brings Travis up. |

2-3 years and it won't be a one year flash in the pan reality it's going to be 5-10 years after that that the Flyers are in Cup contention not just making the playoffs. - dragonoffrost
honest question, with Giroux being close to 30... would you rather ship him out now for a younger return that will be ready for those 5-10 years, or keep Giroux through his contract/career? I guess same Q could be for Voracek (whose contract looks kinda gross right now). |

G I keep. Jake, I'm torn on if he bounces back this season I keep him also.
I'm worried about the prospect pool on wing. If some of the young centers hit we could maybe move G to wing and take some of the burden off during the later years of his career. |

I feel like losing Jagr hurt G a ton, that line of JJ-G-Harts was insanely good that year. |

Yes that line was good but G really hasn't had steady linemates since then. I miss Jagr here also. But understand why it happened. |
