I recently went back to the whole World Container album. It's like their tenth so it gets overlooked, but if they only made four albums and that was one of them it'd be considered a classic.

Coyotes are going to have the best sandwiches in the league. Be interesting to see if it translates to better play on the ice

Eat more sandwiches=more energy=better play??

What does this even mean?

Tanner actually manages to contradict himself multiple times in this blog. Literally....not a week later, but in the same blog.

James....it is obvious that you just sit down in front of the typewriter and type whatever you are thinking. You ebb and flow throughout. It is distracting and worse, it makes you look like a fool.

My feelings on the deal? Florida managed to get out from under a contract that they hated for a very reasonable price. Hopefully Arizona has other moves in mind, because on paper, this is not a win in any sense of the word.

- Dollars2Donuts

I think you just have problems with reading comprehension. I do not contradict myself at all.

Probably one reason he got the job just to have that little cupcake hanging around, lol

Chayka didn't play hard ball with either Holland or Tallon when it came to taking on those contracts.

He didn't do the rest of the league a favor by holding the Wings/Cats over the barrel of the gun, and that's what a lot of people seem to think he should have done. Guess what, Chayka's job isn't to do the rest of the league a favor. What he did do was actually get a deal done to upgrade assets while taking on cap hits that are of essentially no negative consequence to the Yotes.

Could he have squeezed more out of these teams for taking on these contracts? Maybe. But he got what he wanted to improve his team and got the deal done because taking on those contracts does not hurt the Yotes (in fact an argument can be made they are helpful for reaching the cap floor without paying real $).

I would clarify that I think the Wings/Cats were let off fairly easy when dumping those contracts so it is perfectly fair to think these deals were a win for them. When actual $ is more valuable to one team than cap space it creates a perfect environment for these deals to create a win-win scenario.

If Crouse is the cost of getting rid of Bolland's contract why are the picks included? Makes no sense! If you need to include a pick don't make it a couple thirds. Arizona will be a non-playoff team, those could be valuable picks, make them 5/6/7 picks.

Still better value than the Sabres get for their 3rds...

Yeah. She's a beautiful young lady. Sure John grew up an angry Teenager and into his early 20's. For sure his friends definitely gave him some flack.

I think people forget overestimate how much leverage the Coyotes have over other teams when making these moves. The Hurricanes pretty much defined the market when they got Terro out of the Hawks, and there is also a point where losing those contracts isn't worth the price.

I think they did good.

Chychrun, Deangelo, Crouse are three pretty good pieces to get for nothing but low draft picks and some cap space.

If it's the 2nd, then I'll agree. If it's just two 3rd's, I's say it's a fair trade with all things considered.

Agreed, especially when that lost cap space is pretty much irrelevant to the Yotes success and almost irrelevant to the owners wallet (with insurance/retirement).

The other thing I think favored the Canes return is that I think they had more leverage than the Yotes did because the Hawks were in deeper cap hell at that moment than the Wings/Cats.

I still think Chayka might have left a little bit on the table but I don't think it would be anything significant enough to fuss about. The important thing is he is actively getting deals done to improve the team long term. Regardless of his negotiating prowess, that's a lot more than you can say for a lot of other GMs around the league.

People act like he's so young so he's bound to get screwed over. Then they go all pretzly trying to explain why the experienced Chiarelli made such an awful move.

If bolland goes on LTIR, then yotes will owe him 20% of his remaining salary or $3.3M

Bickell is owed $4.5M in cash.

Yotes get a cap benefit of $5.5M for 3 years to help them reach the floor.

If bolland does not go on LTIR, than bad deal for the yotes.

- Tumbleweed

Have to explain this to me. Why would they only owe him 20% of his remaining salary?

The best source i found is the League policy covers 80% of salary for long-term injured players (30 games or more).

Assumption is bolland is injured – which seems to be the case.

I wish Vancouver had a smart GM like Toronto or Phoenix.

Using cap space while rebuilding in return for prospects.
