A washed-up 30+ player who's chronically injured and a prospect whose stock has dropped low even after he was reached for a year ago for what will end up as 2 3rd rounders

MASSIVE!

Why is Reider gone?
- Feds91Stammer

I dont think they dont have cap space to resign him what he wants and they are at 50 contracts now (hmm read on twitter they were at 50, capfriendly says other wise)

Roughly $3M in cap space as well before any potential LTIR is considered.

they have a few (4) that could slide, they dont think they count towards the cap hit right now. So could still be at 50 if any rookies make te team, like strome

I'm assuming Strome makes the team.

This is a bad deal by a rookie GM no matter how you look at it. I can understand taking 11th overall pick Lawson Crouse if Florida lost faith in him, Yzerman did the same with 6th overall pick Brett Connolly when he traded him to Boston for two second round picks.

Essentially Chayka got Crouse for a 2nd and a 3rd round pick, BUT, he took on Bolland's salary and got absolutely nothing in return for it….NOTHING

Kid should be fired for being such an idiot.

Once again Chayka pays too much, and does not get nearly enough in return for doing another team a HUGE favor - getting them out of BollandCapHell

Should have been Bolland and Crouse for a conditional 7th

Schooled again, Wish my team had a coach that could make the players pregame sandwiches though, that would be sweet

only if they plan on spending over the cap is when LTIR used. so unless the Yotes spend over 73m this season (which I dont see happening) its just that roughtly 3m in cap space left

Dave bolland feels like a buyout candidate to me. He's a 1-1.5 million a year player now.

A buyout would costs about 10 million over 6 years.

Is lawson crouse worth $10 million in cash + 2nd round pick + 3rd round pick.

- sditulli

Why would they buy him out?

They'll be all to happy to watch him sit on the LTIR, with insurance paying his salary, but still using that $5.5M cap hit to make sure they have no issues getting above the salary floor.

Chayka isn't a coach though. Plus his sister is a bonafide 10.

it does, but I thought I read he was asking for some 4-5 year deal around 4m or he would go to the KHL

Tanner: I've never understood why you interrupt the flow of your blogs with random music videos, but today's version is particularly perplexing.

Janet Jackson, and then the Tragically Hip?

WTF?

- Atomic Wedgie

I do it because everything needs a soundtrack. This ain't no blog, it's an art project. I don't think the order of the songs is indicative of their rankings though. But Janet Jackson rules, let's never lose sight of that.

Only way this is bad is if Bolland attempts to come back and play again.

Otherwise insurance takes care of most of the cost. Plus the 2nd becomes a 3rd if Crouse is sent down to the OHL and doesn't play a game with the Yotes. I thought Crouse was overrated, but I'd happily give up two 3rd round picks for him.
