DEFENSE, they still do not have any legitimate #1 or #2 D-man on this team. I'm not knocking Big-Z but he's been through the battles for years now and is really suited for #3 or #4 role.

How do you know? He told close friends you say. So does that mean you know his friends so in turn you know Vessey? Which means you know why he changed his mind. No? You don't know why he chose NY instead of Boston? Why not? Ohhhhh. You're not in his inner circle. Got it. If you are a die hard fan and "hoped" for him to sign in Boston, then I can completely understand that. I hoped he was going to sign in Chicago. But don't spout off hope and try to sell it as fact. Vessey made his choice based on a number of factors. And no one on here posting in forums knows exactly what those factors were because if we did, then we wouldn't be posting on here

Jack's really not that bad... people hate him because he get's excited. Sorry he's not a monotonous drone like most hockey announcers. Heaven forbid a guy should have some excitement for the team he covers (and roots for... this isn't a national broadcast). Yes at time's it's a bit ridiculous and childish... but I'd rather have him and his excitement than the plethora of boring old white guys that half the teams trot out as their announcers.

Brick keeps him in check when he needs to.

So, the interesting thing this start of the season will be seeing who gets that ninth spot in the top 9. I'm hoping for Griffith.

Hopefully they keep a short leash on him this year. It was so annoying to see them just trying to force fit pieces last year. Forcing Hayes into the lineup, and especially the PP, where he doesn't belong... forcing Connolly into a top 6 role... I think he would have made a great bottom 6 player. If he was in more of an energy/forechecking role, I think that would have fit his game better than the top line next to Bergeron and Marchand, which never seemed to work out.

It's all good man... to be honest, I completely get it... I used to be in the same boat, and I couldn't stand Jack. Then I got Game Center and started to watch a lot of different broadcasts and I came to the realization that aside from all the ridiculousness, he actually does a pretty good job.

Just out of curiosity... if you hate Jack... and by the sounds of it, don't like Doc Emrick either... are they any examples of broadcasters you like?
