Ever play Assassin's Creed? I feel like I bounty hunting is part of my past somehow.

Never have. I kinda got left behind after the N64 became obsolete.

Agreed man, as far as old geysers from the Peace Region go, Schwein is very open to learning new things.

What kinda tech we talking?

Starting out with the Radio Arts and Entertainment diploma program then (money permitting) I'm aiming to add a Business Administration certificate to enhance and broaden my appeal. I've spent the past 3.5 years saving so I'm hoping I can at least get through the first program debt-free, but it wouldn't be the end of the world to need a student loan considering what I've heard and read about BCIT's post-graduation employment rate.

Interesting, so I guess the main question I have is, upon graduating what would be the ideal job you are aiming for?

I've always heard good things about BCIT.

That's always been a tough question honestly as my life plans have always been more focused on an idea than a particular career or career arc.

If I'm talking ideally, I'd love to be good enough to be hired as a host for a podcast on a major online presence. If I'm talking realistically, I'd say anywhere that gets my foot in the door towards hosting some form of show (podcast, radio show, TV show, whatever else). Certainly wouldn't be opposed to interning at a place like TSN.

Long term, I'd love to be able take any success I have and transition into my own podcast, radio station, or Youtube channel (or whatever takes over for Youtube when it dies), but that's kinda putting the cart well before the horse.

Or you could just knock up one of them blonde beach bunnies that permeate the island and live a life full of thankless work and regrets like the majority of us.

I don't really get what's holding you back from starting your own podcast?

Honestly, pod casts aren't my thing, I'd rather listen to music and read stuff instead. But since I've joined this site I've learned more about hockey from people posting comments than from the actual bloggers. It doesn't take very long to decipher who knows what the (frank) they are talk about and who doesn't and once you figure that out you can start putting more trust into their posts as (fairly) reliable sources of information.

This site has increased my hockey knowledge in three main ways:
i) Conversing with knowledgeable fans
ii) Being inspired to watch a lot more Oilers games (that's mostly thanks to McD but also due to i))
iii) Introducing me to new statistical tools

With that said, if you hosted a podcast, say myHBuzzcast, and invited some of the more well known and regular posters from this site to join I think it would probably get a few listeners.

I dunno, just an idea off the top of my head. I guess my point was, isn't the easiest way to get experience in that area by just trying it out. I know I've seen in one of his blogs that freelancer advertises a weekly podcast to discuss Oilers stuff. It's not like there is a large capital cost involved with starting a YouTube channel. It is more about finding and supplying interesting content to build and maintain a viewership.

Any guesses as to why Taylor Hall doesnt get any love from the hockey world?
Benn has been replaced by Couture, not that he isnt a good choice...

Team Canada has a massive boner for centers. Why they continue to pass up perfectly capable wingers is beyond me.

I've tried a number of things. A lot of it never saw the light of day and the rest of it has been lost in the miasma of the internet. The primary concerns I found with my earliest attempts were a lack of equipment (I only have one mic and am missing a number of peripherals), a lack of content focus, and inconsistent co-hosts. My hosting had its flaws as well so I've been working on articulation and annunciation.

You do have a point though. A big part (maybe even the biggest part) of finding success is just doing it. My hope is that I can find some people in this program who I can work well with so I can get into a rhythm of producing content.

Because he's literally Hitler. I've heard he did 9/11, the second World War, Hurricane Sandy, AND Harambe. He- and only HE- can melt steel beams.

He has to have seriously pissed someone off. Or perhaps he is the douche that all the haters claim?

Hockey Canada just makes some really poor personnel decisions every year.

Did he go to the World Championships this year? They tend to shun anyone who tells them no.

He went the year before (or before that) that also dominated. Not to mention his WJC years all that time ago. Having said that, Couture is a deserving candidate especially after his playoffs this past year, but it's an unfortunate situation for Hall.

Likely due to a bias towards recent performances most notably that of Couture during the playoffs. I know, everyone will mention Hall's WC performance but I don't think that is deemed as impressive as Couture's playoff performance given the difference in quality of competition.

That's right, too. Could just be a Babcock thing. Mike likes his players to not allow the opponent to create much and doesn't really care if they create a lot of offense themselves.

I think that's why Babcock always seems to hire innovative assistants.
