What would you offer for JvR?
- lumlums

Probably a package including Kinkaid, Boucher and a 2nd. I don't think that would do it but who knows.

Not even close a backup goalie, a 2nd round pick and a B prospect for a first line winger?

Don't get me wrong Boucher is a good young player but a backup goalie and a draft Pick adds barely anything to his value.

NYR hate is at a all new level. Only (big) problem is weather or not Staal and Girardi. If they play well or other step up, or if by some miracle they are traded, then NYR are in contention AGAIN!

NYR is very young up front. They are young , fast, and are getting bigger and younger.

Any one who says other wise is just being biased

And faster!!

I've said all along that Nash rumors would pick up if they signed Vesey. If they where in on Shattenkirk before, they're more so now. Rangers can give extension, retain some salary on Nash. Since Shatty makes 4.25 next season and Vesey only getting 925, can reasonably retain over 2 next season and maybe 1.5 the season after?

Why would Shattenkirk agree to an extension when he knows he can test the market, and there will be teams lining up to throw stupid cash at him.

P.S. He's 27 and will be 28 before he hits UFA.
-Mr.Bobby

Maybe because he isnt a greedy PoS? Plenty of UFAs have been traded and received extensions

Take an actual look up front, and you will see, that yes, they are bigger and faster. Not to tough to look at sizes of new players and see they are bigger. Didn't say they would be the Legion of Doom

I guess every team in NHL is gettig better except NYR

I'd say you're just as biased. Henrik is bound to decline, Yandle is gone and Nash has nothing. Shattenkirk would help but not solve the problem considering you have no picks left and a very very thin prospect pool. Vesey and Lindberg are fine, but I don't see either leading a team. Furthermore, most teams in the division are on the way up while the Rangers are refusing a rebuild. The Pens and the Islanders are already there, the Flyers and Devils are getting there and Carolina is inevitably going to get better by sucking so much. There is no worse place to be in hockey than to be contending for late playoff berth without real chances of winning.

Of course I'm being very pessimistic, but it's something you should consider.

Islanders just let Okposo and Nielson walk and you think they're better next year? They signed oldest FA available. If Rangers deal Nash for Shattenkirk, the average age of their forwards would be one of the lowest. Why would they need a rebuild? Have you heard of Pavel Buchnevich? Rangers have draft picks moving forward. Lundquist in decline is still better than most and Rangers actually have a deep goalie prospect pool.

The writing is on the wall the Rangers have a goalie who is still good but is turning 35 this season and is past his prime, they have some decent forwards on their roster now but not one prospect who could become a top line player their defense is atrocious something that the queen was able to cover up but can't expect that every season. Fact is the Rangers have a good team but the team you see now is the best team you'll see for the next couple seasons and with teams like Pitt, Tampa they will just settle for a first or second round playoff exit until the roster is overhauled

Nash for Shattenkirk?? Are you smoking crack lol if you've paid any attention to what the blue are doing their getting younger no way they take on Nash and his terrible contract keep dreaming your lucky you got vesey who on my opinion will be a 3rd liner at best he was way over hyped he's 24 and has never played a professional game watch him get rocked all season by players welcoming him into the league after the poop show he put on

Hank had one of his best seasons last year. SOmeone said Nash has nothing left. He's best possesion guy on team. Had a down year. but only one year removed ffrom 40+ goal season. Top to bottom, NYR is better than Metro teams, w/ exceptioin to Pitt. and Wash (Ovi). If Staal and Girardi either play better (neither healthy last year), or other dmen step up than NYR has no reason they cant be contenders. Vesey and Buch will be great additions, and NYR 4th line and PK have been addreeesed. NOt calling them best team in league, but they have good shot to make some noise.

The Isles are probably going to be fine considering all their young guys are gaining experience and their team will be healthy again. Lee and Nelson namely. They may also get plenty of help from Pulock and Barzal if they make the next step.

I'll admit I haven't heard of him, but after looking him up, I'm not really effected. It's nice that he's playing in a professional league and putting up good offensive numbers, but he's 21. I wouldn't expect more than a solid middle of the lineup player.

He may have been good last year, but you need him to carry the team and I don't know how long he can do that.

Only the dumbest 10 percent of our fan base wants to trade jvr for the sake of trading him. Wedgwood ids a great goalie prospects but you never know with goalies. I would only trade jvr for a top D, but considering that Hall is only with Larsson the deal i want isn't available.

We'll keep jvr, he's still our only first line player this year.

Now, jvr with prospect (s) might get us the player w need. We're in no rush to move him.

They aren't trying to trade JVR. Especially not for a pile of scrap pieces. If they trade JVR it'll be a straight up for a good young defensmen.

I agree they can make some noise in the playoffs they are the 3rd best team in the metro but the question is for how long? Islanders are almost there they took a step back this offseason but they have a deep prospect pool Devils still need some work but have taken big steps lately truth is The Rangers have taken a step back the last two seasons lost in the ECC knocked out first round this past year who did they add they makes them better? Vesey? The lost yandle that's a big hit to the offense and defense. 2-3 years away from having to tear it all down and start from scratch

Tryking to be objective hear, but who's the Isles goalie? Still a big problem. Signed Ladd, but lost Okposo, and Nielson (big loss), and Isles didn't sign anyone else. How are they getting better.

Buchevich has a ton of talent, will it translate to NHL? We'll see. Vesey? All I know is that the roster this year looks much better up front. BIG question is can D and PK step up. GUys like Skjei, Holden, Clending, Mcllrath "might" be able to sure up the backend. If they do, then NYR can break into that top 2 spots in Metro.
