The most logical reason Shattenkirk has not been moved is that he wants to test the market. Armstrong not letting him negotiate? - illogical. Armstrong asking too much? - not after losing Backes for nothing. If Shat's had been willing to negotiated in good faith, he would be gone by now. He's just like Backes. (Army should have learned his lesson knowing Backes had signed an offer sheet with Vancouver years earlier.) He's willing to screw his teammates and the Blues.

From the perspective of the Bruins or Rangers, why would they want to wait just to see him sign with a rival?

Yeah this makes no sense. The two situations are completely unrelated and the 925k cost of vesey doesn't exactly prevent anyone from acquiring an expensive D.

Also why are the Bruins and leafs upset with their fan bases. Leaf fans just spend money. No reason for management to be upset at their fan base.
