Good read Bill. i do agree that expectations for some of these young guys are a bit wishful to say the least.

but to play devils advocate a little bit, i do see the game evolving around the skill and talents of young players. i think it goes back to the lockout in 05, and the likes of crosby, ovechkin joining the party at just right the time. rule changes finessed the game in a way to allow players the ability to better showcase their talents. now with the likes of Kane, toews, tavares, stamkos, and now McDavid...this is becoming a young mans sport more and more...and i am not negating the fact that all players develop at different speeds and will progress along with what he feels comfortable with. i'm saying it shouldn't be too lofty of an expectation for some of the guys we have to come in and show up when the season starts..cause guess what, they're players that are doing it. and i feel like in philly, a city desperate for a cup, you gotta come in and show up..Schenn started to, but you gotta hope there's more to his game. same with couts, gotta hit that next level.

I agree, Luke is an NHL defenseman, he just soured while on the Flyers because of what was given up to get him. Hopefully he does well with the Yotes. I just used him and Gagner because they were picked 5 and 6 respectively in the 1st round.
