This is similar, he traded a draft pick for a current NHL player. Is that not the end goal of a draft pick (besides trying to get the most top end player for that pick)?

I think he is talking about restocking cupboards for future 2-4th line players, but odds a 4th rounder ever makes the team is pretty low.

Last time I checked the players that Murray moved in the ROR and Kane deals aren't breaking any records in the NHL or taking there teams to the playoffs and winning. 2 of them might not even make there team.

Where do you live? I live on Grand Island and I can pull in CBC (channel 5) pretty well with a rooftop. I used to have a leaf antenna - I thought I was right on the edge of pulling in channel 5 (channell 25 is the french CBC so that is an option).

Nice. Yeah I'm in Williamsville off of Maple(so I'm a few miles north of Main). I might try a trial run with my Leaf and some extension wire tonight, if not maybe try a rooftop If I can get my hands on a decent one quick enough.

I would agree that those players are replaceable, to me, the plans should be to get to Chicago's "place" where you have a strong team and get veteran / young rookies to play for minimum contract with a chance to win the cup. So trading away 4th rounders don't bother me one bit.

Good to get in all of the canadian stations in glorious HD (the hockey looks amazing). If anyone wants it I'd be willing to include a boatload of RG6 for a total of $25. I upgraded to an even better antenna last year hoping to get a few more distant stations.

He is a great player for how they were using him, but not over $1.5m in salary great. Although he has made some timely plays in a few cup runs, he is not a guy to give $3.9m for 6 years!?!?!

I mean, we wont give Girgensons that for 1 year, let alone 6.

Which one do you have? I have the older (US made) Channel Master 4228 on my rooftop in Cheektowaga (Cleveland near Eggert) which gets me CBC, CTV, CITY, CTV2 (their Niagara Falls repeater), Global, the French version of CBC and TVO. There are a couple of others that I can't remember (Omni) but they're kind of worthless to me.

I would get that antenna up soon if you want to watch CBC in HD. I'm not sure how much longer it's going to be on there. With the Rogers' NHL contract, CBC was subcontracted for 3 years if I am not mistaken. After that, they will reevaluate where they want to show the games. If the Winter Classic and the All Star game are any indication, they will be moving everything to Sportsnet sooner rather than later.

I'm always good with signing low risk, high reward guys but I'm not guaranteeing playing time or anything like that for them.

Whether or not we get Vesey I hope we make a deal after he signs somewhere. I'd be fine for Fowler for Girgensons + as long as we don't give up too much in the +.
