There's that, Hawks could likely offer him 2nd unit PP time, and a chance to play top line mins with two HOF players, plus Chicago is built for long-term success and NYR has maybe 2 years left of win now mode. Can't imagine growing up in Boston then using your FA to choose a city you grew up hating your whole life. Like me picking St Louis, - Assman22

Yep. That's my view. Hawks are moving onto the next step. It's just odd JJ would post a comment about Hudler and then Rangers rumors pick up.
My only question is IF it's done, then what the hell is he waiting for? - kwolf68

Monahan signs for roughly $6.3
Good comparable for next Breadman deal. - jt19
If Panarin duplicates last year he'll be North of 7 million. |

Let's say Q decides to put him up with Toews. Do you think he does duplicate, or do his numbers drop a bit? |

Another comparable player Johnny Gaudreau is apparently wanting around 7.5 mil from the Flames. |

I don't see Artey in Chicago long term, given what his salary will command on the open market unless some other big boy is moved. |

Sources saying Jimmy Vesey has chosen the Chicago Blackhawks, they had offered him the contract maximum for rookie a week ago.
I'm not sure who this is but was posted 16 mins ago. But the week ago comment makes is appear made up. |

If coaching and surrounding players are what he's banking on, NYR makes no sense over the Hawks. |

Great question man. Honestly, I can't answer it. I could see him becomming a bigger goal scorer with Tazer and Hossa, with a few less assists. |

#BREAKING - Hearing Vesey has narrowed his list down to 3 teams. CHI/NYR/TOR. NJD/BOS/BUF/PIT/NYI out.

I would bet that the other big boy will be...Crawford. I am fine with Darling getting a shot at #1, we have 0 replacements for the Breadman in our system. |

IMHO - if he signs with NYR its all about the line of bull dung Hayes fed him about CHI. Hayes has had a chubby for the B over his brother - who in everyones opinion was a 4th line guy. Same dung many teams go through when a disgruntled FA slams the team - others listen without facts. |

I agree. To keep Panarin someone has to move and Crawford makes the most sense. I see no other option than makes sense. You can't move Keith or Seabrook because like Panarin no one is remotely close to being able to replace them in in the system. |

Will be interesting to see what happens if that change is made. He is definitely a finisher and once he got comfortable out there, didn't hesitate to shoot (those Penguins games were things of beauty). Toews, while no Patrick Kane, is no slouch on the passing. It's definitely one things I'm looking forward to watching closely this year.
As I've said several times, would think for sure that the FO would want to see what he brings as a solo artist before inking the next offer. |

Jimmy Vesey will be with an American original 6 team I'm hearing. @NYRangers & @NHLBlackhawks are finalists according to multiple sources.
Then there would be two? |

The Hawks would give Panarin a Qualifying offer though. and the subsequent offer sheet he got would return the hawks a First, second, and third-round pick. for the 2018 draft. Potentially more if the Sheet goes over 7.35M...
The hope would be that you can use those assets to replace him. |

Those picks would certainly lessen the sting, especially if they were top 10 picks in the rounds. |

If breadman gets an unmatchable offer then it will be the 4 first round pick type of offer. |

If it comes out that he signs with the Rangers because NY offered immediate playing time and the Hawks didn't... does that change your perception of his character?

Makes sense Vesey is going to NY given JJ posted a comment about Hawks now in on Hudler. Sounds like it is probably done. - kwolf68
JJ answered a Twitter questions on this: as a backup plan? Yes |
