As much as I'd love it, merely changing the process won't get people to act like decent respectful humans on the internet. - JGould70
Totally agree. To change that my friend would take the largest evolutionary leap the human race has ever experienced.

This guy (Vesey) will be booed mercilessly on a nightly basis if he signs in the East because of all the teams he will have turned down.
He will endure a lot less of that with the Hawks as they are the only Western team involved in the bidding. |

Nothing final yet, but hearing it's #NYR or #CHI for Jimmy Vesey. Tavares made a strong pitch for #Isles but they fell short, it appears.

Crazy (and sad) to watch the amount of people on Twitter ripping on this kid while he's making one of the biggest decisions of his life. Where there's smoke there's fire...clearly the kid's got something a bunch of NHL teams are interested in. - JGould70

What's Kevin Hayes second contract pitch? I ditched the Hawks and got 2.6 mil per on a 2 year deal with the Rangers. It was a great career move.
Saad and Panarin were flukes with the Hawks...... |

Told just now Hawks had Scotty Bowman phone in to Vesey pitch. Team "hopeful," awaiting decision.

I really like the guy as an athlete and individual, but how many good years does Lundqvist have in him? That NYR cup window is getting very very thin. |

NY media/fans would run Vesey out of town if he doesn't produce.
He should take a long, hard look at TT's time here in Chicago, because he could end up having a similar experience in the pros--showing flashes of strong play, but having a lot of growing pains and struggling.
The Hawks showed great patience with TT--even more so than I thought he should have been given. Had it been NY, I think TT would have been run out a long time ago.
So, in my mind, I think the Hawks organization and fanbase, would give him more of chance then somewhere like NY. And I'm not saying that NY is bad, but their markets are typically known for being tough on their "stars" that aren't producing. Nothing wrong with some tough love, though. |

I agree with your point about patience. However I don't agree with using TT as a comparable. TT was physically immature whereas Vesey is physically ready. TT couldn't always use his considerable skills because he was often physically overwhelmed. Vesey probably isn't close to the same skill level of TT but he can skate well and has the physical strength and size to compete in that part of the game. Patience was needed for TT to get stronger and bigger which was a more long term project. The Hawks may need to have patience with Vesey but it will be for him to realize he can compete in the league like all rookies have to go through and shouldn't take anywhere near as long as it would take TT to grow into being a man. |

Oh I love him. Disappoints fanbases everywhere he goes
Guy is the ultimate tease. Gets your team all the way to the show and just flat out forgets how to coach. Wash, rinse, repeat |

Scotty Bowman participating in the pitch. That's almost unfair. |

Can't see Vesey picking NYR over CHI unless being closer to home is really a top priority. |

Latest from a friend:
"Blackhawks made a very simple and succinct pitch to the Vesey camp. No over the top promises, no frills, just simply what they had to offer, what team/player support they could provide, etc. including a small phone pitch from Scotty Bowman. The Vesey camp has not let anything out, but have been told that he has already made a decision, and they are working on logistics/conferences today." |

Good to hear they aren't giving him promises of a spot he hasn't earned because Q would be crotch grabbing all over the place. |
