Who'd ya have in mind? - j.boyd919
I guess it depends on who qualifies as a two way center in your book. Personally, I'd say:
Kopitar
Toews
Pavelski
Backstrom
Datsyuk
Barkov
Bergeron
ROR
Stepan
More or less in that order. I wouldn't really consider Crosby or Thornton or Sedin a two-way center. Not to say they don't play effective defense, but it's not really a staple or huge strength in their game like some of the other guys I listed. Not sure I'd even include Backstrom, and Pavelski is kind of a winger. |

Giroux is very much a two-way center...the fact that you don't know this shows that you truly know nothing about hockey. |

Nope. That's absurd. Backstrom is closer to O'Reilly, but Thornton is light years better than ROR defensively, while providing off the charts primary A/60. ROR couldn't sniff Jumbo's jock. |

Over the past few years, Crosby's defensive play has been very under appreciated. In Bylsma's later years, I think last 2? Maybe just the last one, Sid was used against the opponents top lines, and usually did very well limiting chances. Thornton's defense is phenomenal. I'll never discredit a guy's defense because they're elite offensively. That's just silly. Sedin too.

I think Barkov will be on this list in couple years. But right now i ithink ROR is better. SO you would have him like 6 like me. SO thanks for agreeing somewhat.

Monahan and Tavares should be in the top "2 way" C discussion as well |

I guess I just don't watch enough Sharks or Canucks games to appreciate what Thornton and Sedin do defensively |

Barkov out scored ROR despite playing in less games this year
But yes I am a huge ROR fan. I think as far as two way centers go, there aren't many better than him. |

Wasn't singling you out, just that he is 10 points short of a PPG for his career, yet he rarely pops up on anyones top lists. I can only guess he gets dismissed because of the Ovi factor. |
