Not sure what you're referring to, but only person that responded to his post was me who said "if he has a successful camp he'll make the team". Are you denying that if he has a good camp and shows he's ready that he will be sent back anyways?

Also, what facts were presented? Those were guesses and hypotheticals.

caught him using a homophobic slur... he'll reply in a week.

i agree with you too burn.. marner's skill set is more then there... its a matter of did his off season training get his strength up to where it needs to be... has he hit 170lbs yet?

I think if Marner has a successful camp he makes the team.
- burn

Maybe. But I think it is important to note that Babcock has been a part of the most lengthy rookie integration organization in the world and isn't above just playing veteran favourites to be more competitive in games.

I also get that there are other factors, like the contract situation and numbers game ect.... But to say that those things are facts to be taken in stone is absurd. No one knows what e leafs are thinking. Maybe they don't want more than 5 rookies at once..... Maybe they have Marner ahead of hyman and sosh... Maybe they don't consider ziatev "rookie".

Babcock said that Marner makes it if he has a good camp. That is really the only fact we have.

People have these almost fairytail opinions of Babs.. Not every player is Gustav Nyquist. Detroit could afford to keep players in the minors longer because they had future hall of famers on their team. He's like every other coach, he will use the best players available to try to win. Maybe he thinks its not ideal, but i doubt he has a "rookie limit"..

True...and yet the evidence points the other way historically even back to the Ducks team he almost won the Cup with.

I'm not dismissing it and I understand that Detroit never had 5th overall players knocking on the doorstep, but it's all we have objectively to go on.

We're at each others throats over whether Marner will make the team or not. Classic us.

yup... exactly... they arent about to flood the team with rookies but with marner its an interesting case... the other guys can go down to the marlies and be recalled after they clear some dead weight at the deadline... marner its either or (stupid transfer rule... pisses me off)

its going to be an interesting camp... all i know for sure is its not about to be a lineup of rookies.. 4 or 5 sounds about right ... and i am including zaitsev... i anticipate matthews, nylander, marner and zaitsev myself but wtf do i know? lol

Do any of us even really care if he signs or not? I think the only reason we even care even a little bit is because it'll be hilarious seeing Sabres fans whine about it.

According to Spasto, Marner sucked vs. Finland.

I'm not going to lose sleep if we don't, but yeah, rubbing it in the Sabres' faces would be joyous.

Adding another asset for free doesn't hurt either.

Suicide Squad is getting poopty reviews. They needed more Deadpool & less Chris Pratt. Tobey McGuire's cameo was kinda fun though

Marner sucks. bust..

How do you guys rank hockey countries right now? Who can ice the best team?

Who'll win the WCH?

Canada
USA
Finland
*Team N. America
Russia
Sweden
*Team Europe
Czechs

Not how i see the WCH playing out, but its how i see world rankings. Its weird seeing Sweden so far down, but i think Russia and Finland are better right now.

Still rumblings out there about Russell and the Leafs (among others) freeing up cap space to sign him.

If he was a couple years younger and a right shot, I could see him rounding out our top 4, but the guys going to cost a bunch of cap/term and he can block shots. Yippie. So could Komisarek.

Volchenkov was useful for some time... I dont know how important a shot blocker is anymore. Especially with defensemen now who are so good at getting shots through..

Chris Pratt was great in Guardians of the Galaxy.

DC needs some writers; the scripts are always awful.

Arguably the best in the league, so he is blocking shots (and not a tough stat to tally), which is useful, just not at around 5/5 like some say he's asking for.

If you guys need line ups to calm the Trevvvvrrrrrr dude down, just ask. They were worked out in Lucas' blog before you buttholes jumped ship for MiBs blog.

This solves all the arguments:

JVR, Kadri, Marner
Komarov, Matthews, Nylander
Lupul, Bozak, Brown
Michalek, Laich, Martin

OR with injuries/trades or an all inclusive trip to Robidas Island...all the young guys get in:

JVR, Kadri, Marner
Komarov, Matthews, Nylander
Sosh, Bozak, Brown
Hyman, Laich, Martin

- underhill14

Hey Matt Martin, you want to come play 4th line on a poopty team?. We could really use you to ride shotgun with Laich and protect him.

What a (frank)ing painful way to make a living.. Id rather be a goon and get hit in the face every game.

If you look though, bad defensemen are usually the ones who have their shots blocked. thats where most happen, because they recieve a pass with nowhere to go other than throw it towards the net... Scoring defensemen are really the only threat from the blueline and they find ways to get around guys laying on the ice..
