as would Yzerman and the rest of team Canada - I don't really get why this is such an argument fellas!

PK has the flash
Weber is the 2 headed beast with the hardest shot in the league.

- Lucas Neilson

100% yes

weber will bring stability to the habs back end that they simply did not have last year

There's not many players that would fit into a one for one trade for PK....Weber is one of them and arguably one the best ones...from a GM point of view it didnt make sense to trade PK for a top forward because then he would have to replace the D spot...and filling that talent void left by PK is not easy or cheap

I just don't understand all the fancy stats, so I can't answer your further questions cuz it makes my mind too wobbly. Answering a direct "what's X player's zone starts" is easy. :D

Some more for you on these two though:

so yeah... seems like the stats are pretty damn close

i wont pretend to understand them all but my old senile mind can still tell when numbers are close lol

i wont argue with that

i guess its going to be a wait and see type thing

all i am trying to say is the deal wasnt as lopsided as some make it out to be

- Dozzer

Agreed - especially with the whole cap recapture thing. NSH is going to have to trade for that contract back at some point I'd assume. Unless I'm missing something.

Yeah the habs need some more firepower, and they tried to work that out in other ways (which I think they did have some success at), PK is great, but I think they will be better off with Weber. He's more stable on the D end, PK may be more flashy but that can get him into trouble sometimes.

his leadership on the hab's back end will be huge as well... and you can't chart that out
- Dozzer

you can't quantify Leadership...but you know it will be huge

another thing to consider is the division each player played in since teams play a lot of games against division opponents

subban played in a division that included toronto, buffalo, ottawa, a declining bruins, and a declining detroit

weber played in a division that includes dallas, st louis, chicago, and minnesota

i am going to go out on a limb and state that weber faced better opponents with far more frequency than subban

I'm not saying it's lopsided. I've seen some of those posts and it seems a bit absurd.

But if you look at 5on5 scoring who's better? If you look at the Corsi numbers and the zone entries and exists who's better?

Weber is basically a pp specialist (very good) thats perceived to be better defensively than he really is and pk is a good 5on5 dman that is a strong pp player who is perceived to be worse dcenaively than he is

Don't worry, Liriano will make all other moves look like steals.

thank you

i like your posts burn... they are impartial

I do still think weber is an upgrade on subban defensively however over rated some think weber is.

subban should thrive in the fast skating west tho as well... thats a scary top pairing nashville has offensively

best part is there have been so many studies showing that innings limits don't do poop. elbows and shoulders will blow out randomly regardless. there's really no point to it.

I can't really comment on Weber being overrated defensively or not. Hopefully you're wrong.

But I agree on the Subban comment, aside from the fact that he's bound to make mistakes with risky plays, he's actually better than people give him credit for defensively.

and from what i have ever seen and read nashville is a great team for having their forwards get back and help out their D

i honestly believe it was a good trade for both sides

yes I read that about the Braves pitching coach when they had Maddux, Glavin, etc....he said it's the changing up of routine and pitch count that causes more injury than high pitch counts/innings

anyone think a team throws an offer out to vermette once the buyout goes through?
