either way having him will help create a stronger top 6... i think they should spread the talent out some (like your first suggestion) because putting it all into one line (mostly) allows opposition shut down lines a D pairing to key in on them - Dozzer
I agree.
The big question for the Habs for training camp will be which player will take that last spot on the 2nd line.
Could be a young guy like Carr, Lekhonen, Andrighetto or Reway or they could put Shaw in there... but it would be disappointing because Shaw really is more suited for a third line role imo.

While I agree it would have been nice to see the Habs add a player like Hall for their offensive problems... removing Subban without replacing him would have left a big hole in the backend.
Can't let Price do everything.... all the time..... again... - Scabeh
Makes sense. It'll be interesting to see how it all plays out for the Habs this season. Lots of potential upside but some lingering question marks. All we can hope for is that Radulov flees after 6 games, Weber declines to Luke Schenn status and they fail miserably! |

Wasn't Lander considered as one of the untouchables by Cloutier at some point? - Scabeh
Yes. He famously said that he wouldn't "trade Lander's potential for Lucic straight up." |

I have no idea whats best, It sucks if they have to lose him as a starter..but again..I have no (frank)ing clue about major league ball player arms.
If they keep him in the rotation and something happens this season...the same Fans who are crying about him going to the Pen will be calling the Jays idiots for not putting him in t he Pen sooner ..thats just how it goes - senstroll
I agree with you, management is in a no-win situation here. What Jays fans should keep in mind is Sanchez is the best young pitcher this organization has, and is probably the best since Halladay. He is in the long term plans of this team and will be hopefully be the ace of this team for many years - that is an asset worth being cautious with. He will be valuable in the pen which has been really weak.

not to mention it also saves his arm for later in the season / post season if they want to put him back into the rotation |

I won't claim to be an expert as others have mentioned but I haven't seen the move praised by ANYONE and there seems to be a unanimous opinion of it being a bad move.
There are quotes from Atkins like this: "Toronto Blue Jays general manager Ross Atkins comments on transitioning pitcher Aaron Sanchez to the bullpen in an attempt to have him ready for a Game 7 scenario."
This worries me because... you know... every team in the AL East not named Tampa are basically in the race for playoff spots. Gotta get there first... |

Sanchez will be a valuable pitcher - whether it is in the pen or starting. The cancer that was Jesse Chavez - he of letting every single (frank)ing inherited runner score this season is gone. This team will be better than the one in 2015 even without Sanchez in the rotation. What is more worrisome is the League and Jays not doing anything about other contending teams - intentionally injuring our stars to gain advantage. The Tulo injury was no accident - pitcher threw about 8 inside pitches to him. I think Buck Shiitwater would have gone apeshiit if Manny Machado got 8 inside pitches and the last one broke his hand.
