and from what i have ever seen and read nashville is a great team for having their forwards get back and help out their D
i honestly believe it was a good trade for both sides - Dozzer
I thought the trade was pretty shocking but fine for both sides. The only thing I thought was weird is that it was a D swap. I thought MTL's biggest issue through the back half was scoring last season? No? I would have thought a deal could have been made that had Subban fetching some quality forwards maybe. best part is there have been so many studies showing that innings limits don't do poop. elbows and shoulders will blow out randomly regardless. there's really no point to it. - daeth
I have no idea whats best, It sucks if they have to lose him as a starter..but again..I have no (frank)ing clue about major league ball player arms.
If they keep him in the rotation and something happens this season...the same Fans who are crying about him going to the Pen will be calling the Jays idiots for not putting him in t he Pen sooner ..thats just how it goes |

anyone think a team throws an offer out to vermette once the buyout goes through? - Dozzer
He gets paid some of that contract right? If that's the case a team could probably get him on the cheap. I bet someone bites |

I'd just prefer they put D ickey in the pen..... a literal pen he can't get out of. |

yeah... but landing radulov helps in the offensive department for the habs
weber brings experience and leadership to the back end and his supposed decline is being blow out of proportion i think |

yeah... he is what? 34? a good 2nd/3rd line guy who can still chip in a decent amount of offense imo |

It's kind of like not playing Lupul in the last 20 games of a season in order to keep him healthy. Yeah it's true that he (probably) won't get injured if he doesn't play but that won't make him healthier next season. It's a really backwards way of doing things. |

You know exactly what you're getting with him. I have zero issues with him. Doesn't hurt that he tends to get better as the season progresses either. |

I'm just jaded because the last two games I've been to were D ickey starts and he was serving up meatballs. |

While I agree it would have been nice to see the Habs add a player like Hall for their offensive problems... removing Subban without replacing him would have left a big hole in the backend.
Can't let Price do everything.... all the time..... again... |

radulov should help out with offense... a big body like that is going to open up space for his linemates as well which should help them up their offensive totals
any word or ideas on who radulov might be playing with? |

My guess is he will start the season with Plekanec and whoever they decide to throw in there (one of the kids probably... Reway, Lekhonen... hell maybe Shaw?), leaving the Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Gallagher line intact since it had some success last year.
But your guess is as good as mine. They could also try for a very strong first line putting with my Pacioretty and Galchenyuk.
I love that signing alot for the Habs. |

either way having him will help create a stronger top 6... i think they should spread the talent out some (like your first suggestion) because putting it all into one line (mostly) allows opposition shut down lines a D pairing to key in on them |
