Why the hell would CGY now want Howard? They just traded for and signed in FA Elliott and Johnson. Bad optics for CGY if they now trade 1 of those 2 for Howard. It would have to be one hell of a deal in CGY's favor.

If Calgary trades for Jimmy Howard, Brian Elliott is liable to go full-nuclear meltdown. He just got out of a 1a/1b situation in St. Louis. Bringing in Howard might make him snap.

JGP??led the league in sh goals and finished with 19 ,Smith scored 25 ,not saying he will get to those numbers again but our top 9 is very solid tbh

Smith will be well under 20g this year as he will not have a 20% sh and it will be closer to his career avg of 10% sh.

JGP is solid but overall the bottom 6 is weak imo.

Meh Smith is a solid 3rd liner dont fool yourself ,he isnt a 25 goal man usually but he shown he is more than capable of potting 10 to 15 from the 4th line .Him playing with a much better player in JGP,than guys like greening or Neil helps.But in general he is a good faceoff man plays a gritty two way game ,and can play LW and is willing to drop the mitts from time to time .Calling him anything less is pretty shortsighted

Howard to Calgary so we can once again have 3 goalies, and screw our cap situation up so we can't resign Monahan and Gaudreau...

Guy know nothing about hockey and has exactly zero insider information...doesn't even bother keeping up with basic hockey news, probably didn't even realize Calgary already got 2 goalies this off-season
Pretty sure he just saw a rumor that popped up way back at the draft when Calgary was kicking tires on everyone and thought it was current breaking news
