DP just sounds natural on the radio, his overall knowledge of all sports is impressive too, not just hockey, which lets be honest in mainstream NY sports listeners maybe less than 15 % want to talk hockey anyway. - B2B76
Francessa doesn't talk hockey until the Rangers are in the playoffs.

For the last 2 decades the Islander have been just as big of a joke as the Leafs. I don't see how either fans seem to think they have something over the other. - VT001
Well, completely unbiased opinion here, Islanders are a better team than Toronto at this day. However, looking at the past two dacades both team struggled down the road similarly. Islanders fan shouldn't get their panties in a bunch, since they don't have a team to write home about either. On the flipside, I still see both teams improving, but clearly Toronto has much more potential to develop and could easily see the cards unfold nicely in front of them. As an Ottawa fan, I've always hated Toronto, but I give credit where it is due, and I think Marner, Matthews, Nylander and Oreilly are all much better prospects than what the Islanders currently have. It isn't completely absurd to think any NHL'er can be traded these days. Don't need to look furhter than the Hall-Larsson trade that got the entire NHL fanbase scratching their heads. The game is a team sport not an individual acheivement sport. |

failed huh? Do you even want to compare TOR's track record for contract signings to that of Snow's? Its not even close. TOR prints money and is able to make mistakes on UFA's by burying them in the minors or trading them for injured players to pay to sit out instead. That makes the Clarkson and Phaneuf deals fine moves? Come on... - Jethro09
Yes, your chirp of the Clarkson signing failed as a trolling attempt.
Did Toronto buy their way out of their mistake? Hell yes. But they got away with it, so what's the problem?
Horton is sitting at home collecting $5 million a year - why would I care as a Leafs fan?
As for the Phaneuf deal, well, you're trolling the wrong guy on that one. I'm in the minority, but I didn't think there was anything wrong with him, and I thought Ottawa fleeced us on the deal.
And for the record, I think Snow isn't nearly as bad a GM as people make him out to be. |

Every single team in the league has atleast one or two bad deals. Its part of thr game especially the FA game.
Grabo might get LTIR depending on how he feels come september. |

Buffalo will not be a destination for Tavares even though his uncle - also named John Tavares - is a NLL Bandits Legend (i realize how that title sounds) was in Buffalo for 20 years. Right now our 1-2 centers are ROR and Eichel. In two years, I think ROR will be riding shotgun on Eichel's wing and Reinhart will be #2 center
I don't see a fit for another top-6 center |

The Leafs have six.
Although let's round that down to four, because Horton and Robidas won't count against the cap. |

Tavares used to be OK, but his game has really suffered since he decided to kill puppies as a hobby. |

That was David Backes. Remember? He adopted all those puppies from Sochi, just to take them back to St. Louis and BBQ them.

seems to me the only wake the leafs have created in the last 50 years is the need to WAKE UP
SINCE the Isles were created
the Isles 4 stanley cups
the Leafs 0 - billneftleberg
I dont see why we can't get along.
I'm gonna extend an olive branch. I would like to congratulate the Isles and their fans for winning a playoff series this year, their first since 1993, and only second time since 1987.
It feels good to have your team finally get it together, doesn’t it? Leaf fans are starting to feel the same way, and it sure is a good feeling. I can’t imagine how relieving it must feel if it had been 30 years, in state that you can't win a playoff series in more than one season.
Congrats to you, you deserve it.

You Islanders fans are so gullible - you'll believe everything you hear.
He's coming to Toronto.
My brother works with a guy whose cousin went to school with Tavares' mom's sister.
My brother says that he said that the cousin talked to Tavares' aunt, who is scheduled to host the 2018 Thanksgiving dinner at her house. Tavares said "don't worry, I'll be there."
DO I NEED TO SPELL IT OUT FOR YOU PEOPLE?!?!?!?!?!?
P.S. Fix your damn logo. - Atomic Wedgie
OH YEAH? Well my brother said that his friends father's cousin works with a guy who shares a gardener with Tavares and the gardener said that Tavares prepaid to have his lawn mowed through 2020. CLEARLY my source is superior to yours (e5).
I can't believe you even just repeated your source for that information. At least say you know the aunt or something in order to give yourself the slightest bit of credibility.
P.S. I'm sorry we don't have a logo as intricate and exciting as a maple leaf. |

Well Matthews is pretty much a can't miss. I think the odds are really really low he doesn't turn into a superstar. Kind of like Ryan Gropp for the Rangers. |
