It didn't turn out well but in case you didn't hear the Leafs traded that contract for Nathan Horton who is on the LTIR, therefore there is no cap hit to the Leafs - twiztedmitch
Just like the Phaneuf contract they signed. Terrible deal that they couldn't wait to move out. When you take shots at a GM for his signings, it is immaterial if the deals were moved out in a trade. The signings were either good ones or bad ones, regardless of whether or not TOR can print money to buy their way out of mistakes. They moved Clarkson out in exchange for Horton, a guy that is making over $5M per year to sit at home with his family. So the Leafs pay a guy $5M plus per year to not skate for them.
Your shot at the Isles seems to ignore a very real fact: most UFA's are overpaid, paid for past performance that they are unlikely to replicate as they age. Every team is guilty of it. Your shot at the Isles also fails to acknowledge that Snow's track record for signing players to team friendly deals is about as good as any GM in hockey. But i digress... |

I'm all for banter but the hate towards leafs and their fans is pathetic. - 50 Mission Cap
Agreed, some opposing fans have an obsession with hating the Leafs. It is quite sad really that they have the time for that
Oh well we can just sit and laugh at them |

Just fine, actually.
MLSEL paid for the problem to go away.
It's sad that with so much to troll Toronto fans about, your attempt failed. - Atomic Wedgie
failed huh? Do you even want to compare TOR's track record for contract signings to that of Snow's? Its not even close. TOR prints money and is able to make mistakes on UFA's by burying them in the minors or trading them for injured players to pay to sit out instead. That makes the Clarkson and Phaneuf deals fine moves? Come on... |

Serious question: are the islanders still paying that phenom Rick Dipietro or is that done now? I just looked on the cap geek and all I could find was Yashins contract.....just wondering.
But in all seriousness....,Kulemin and Grabovski were 2 awesome signings.....ok I'm done. Good night.
This is your quote from earlier. Not trolling or taking a shot at all. I must be mistaken... |

It's about 100 km from city hall to city hall.
A lot less if you go border to border.
You seem like an awfully angry young fellow. Is a Torontonian schtupping your mom? - Atomic Wedgie
by your logic Hamilton is a part of toronto as well. try telling that to someone from hamilton.
Brantford is between 100-125 km 64-80 miles away from toronto depending on your route, and Buffalo is around 85 miles away, so maybe they'll start claiming gretzky too...
how do you get it into your head that Brantford is close to Toronto? only someone from the GTA would actually think that... makes no sense...
btw, someone did land on the moon... |

It was Kinggilmour you responded to with the Clarkson thing.
I LOVE Kulemin and Grabovski.

Yeah, apparently leafs fans are like the seals at San Francisco piers. They jump in, make a whole bunch of noise, crap on everything, hang around for a little while, then go away. But they're fun to watch for a little while. At least we know that they're just a joking bunch, and not one of them is serious. - Isleshockeyman
It is somewhat entertaining. |

Not really setting the bar too high there. He could just fart live on the air for 2 hours and he'd be better at radio than he was in goal. |

DP just sounds natural on the radio, his overall knowledge of all sports is impressive too, not just hockey, which lets be honest in mainstream NY sports listeners maybe less than 15 % want to talk hockey anyway. |
