Don't confuse fans with the media. They love pumping this "hometown boy coming home" crap. Leafs fans don't care about UFAs... At least not for the next 3-4 years. Leafs have their own drafted talent to watch develop especially their own first overall pick!

Stamkos was patient for his entire career in Tampa and now that he's in his prime and Tampa are for real, why would he go backwards to a team like the Leafs?" and got banned for 2 days
