I tried to read this thread but it went off the rails quickly i jumped 6 pages and it was still the same. Kind of sucks we are in the middle of summer where we have hardly any real news. Still was nice to hear jt say he was staying and ownership will do everything to keep him here, stamkos signing for less may help in terms of him signing for a little bit less but hes probably getting 8.5 to 9 million a year for 8

87% of stats are made up on the spot. I'm not diminishing JT. I'm saying the sabres have a potential elite center in Eichel (definitely a true #1 C) and a good #2 C in Reinhart.

My point was a response to people saying JT could be a fit for the Sabres. I don't think the Sabres have a need for JT

In both countries we get the same thing, a choice of giant douche, or turd sandwich. Just in Canada we have four significant federal parties so we get to also consider selecting from a couple other flavours of douche and turd.

This year the American choices for douche and turd are...particularly dramatically douchey and turdy. Then again we elected Rob Ford, a crack smoking drunk CFL fan as TOs mayor. And then he got selected to the HHOF board, that's insane.

What are you talking about? I was not talking about the coach in a bad way at all. Son I been around hockey my whole life played for 7 years until a severe concussion took me out. Been to Islander games my whole time from Boston to Philly to Pittsburgh to Washington to even Atlanta. Been there when we were to cheap to have a jumbotron. When there was 4000 in attendance. Dont tell me I dont know hockey. It is just funny reading comments on here from the newbies who really need to get a clue. The veterans on here and they know who they are are amazing and always know what is going on and know what to say. It is sad that most of them stay away now cause of all the crap that is on these blogs. It was never like this back in the day but then the new guys come around and blow it all up. If you want to see a troll then go read about them in a childrens book or look in your bathroom mirror.

Soooooo you can post your opinions (which you are entitled to) but the "newbies" are ruining it. Please define newbie. Would it be anyone who signed in after you? Anyone who signed in within the last 2 years, 5 years? Everybody has a right to post in here. Just because it's not just you, capt., chiefs, & vukota anymore, doesn't give you the right to say that "newbies" don't have a clue. I've caught some grief in here from others, but never took offense to it, and felt it was good natured humor. Your post just seems elitist. I have a good time posting in here and have fun interacting with others (even the leafs fans this morning). You may want to slow your roll and look at things from a different perspective. Enjoy!

I take it you don't venture much outside the Leafs thread? On other blogs other than the Leafs one, people can banter back and forth and have disagreeing views while throwing in some smack talk without getting banned. It's only in the leafs thread that the nazi mod goes off on anyone that talks down on the leafs.

I wasn't really crying about it. You'd love to sign guys of that calibre, but if not, ShannaLouCock are doing great things anyway.

Love to see another Isles vs. Leafs playoff round because as I recall, and it was eons ago because both teams have sucked, but that was one of the crazier series I've seen.

NYI won cups in the modern era not when only 2 teams miss the playoffs & 2 series to win the cup. Night n day comparing Leafs to NYI. Now my Canucks have no history to speak of when talking cups but a far cry from what the Leafs r. Only pro team that can be so horrible & still make money hand over fist.

What does that say?
A: if NY can support 3 teams Toronto deserves another team.

I'll take it. Committing to build through the draft patiently, emphasizing skill, not trying to build a team on UFA day and/or through splashy trades a la Burke. That's a strategy the Leafs haven't used, really, ever in their history. Took the prospect pool from the bottom of the league to the top according to most analysts within a year and a half. Hired Babcock and Lou. I dig it.

Yeah, this train derailed a long time ago. Kind of bouncing all over the place. On the bright side, it's taken the target off of parking at Barclays, Snow(for the most part), coaching, and lack of trades (I don't mean I expect something to happen right now) for the time being.

If the decision was up to you, where are you guys placing the team. Willets Point, Belmont, Barclays, or ______________?

Why? Close to home? Miss the old barn? Transportation options? I'm just curious. I do realize the nostalgia of it, but the place was a dump, as I understand it. Last time I was there in the early '90's, it seemed to be starting to go downhill.
