Right side. The right side is our strongest forward spot. Eriksson Hansen JV Boeser Dorsett. Dorsett can now be moved or used for expansion draft this year. I think extending Hansen for three years would secure a very strong right side for the next 5 years.
Center. Hank Bo Sutter. This position needs work . Hank could be gone in two years , so going forward it is time to build for the future.
Left side. Danny Sven Etem Rodin Gaunce. Definitely the weakest spot on the team . Lots of question marks. It could be ok but it could be a nightmare.
Tradables : Miller. Hutton . Pedan. Any current left forward. Prospects. Draft picks. Dorsett. Sbisa. |

I follow the Flyers a lot, for personal reasons, and I see them in a similar (yet different) situation to the Canucks, in that their star players are older (not as old obviously) and they want to compete NOW!
Giroux and Simmonds are 28, Voracek is 27, Mark Streit is 38, these guys are their main core guys and they collectively make around 25 million dollars. Similar to Henrik, Daniel, Loui Eriksson and Edler…25 million dollars.
I hope Benning starts to address the holes in the lineup like Hextall has done over the past two years, patience and drafting. Hextall has drafted 19 of a possible 14 times in the past two years including three times in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th rounds. He's also cut a lot of dead weight.
Hopefully Benning can see past the twins, which I believe he's doing, and continue to build onto the guys, Boeser, Juolevi, Virtanen, Gudbranson, Brisebrois, Demko, Tryamkin & Lockwood he's already drafted. |
