Benning, love or hate him has certainly made enough moves that he has fundementally impacted both the direction and composition of the team.
As such, the need to remain objective is now moot. One can either like or dislike the current direction of the team as dictated by its general manager....or not. At this point, one 'side' is no better (for arguments sake) then the other.

Can we just start the season already? Let's head to Vegas: sport bets (hockey football), pool and buckets of beer.
Speaking of Vegas, I'm in for the Canucks 1st game in Vegas. I wonder how many Canuck fans will fill that building? could be 50/50 or more.

omg...tanner is a wacko. Just read the blog and 1st page. Guy then argues with and belittles his audience. Strange.
there is so little hockey wise right now Im almost entertaining that rumor that sbisa +2nd for Kane is going down monday. - SMBDragon
i'd be shocked, but thrilled.
Fixes a few issues.
With the addition of Kane
Gives us a decent option for 2nd line and PP2.
Adds some much needed grit to the top 6.
Adds some depth and competition for the forwards (which could allow JV to go to Utica if he's not ready).
With the subtraction of Sbisa
Removes a logjam on D and allows Larsen, Tryamkin, Pedan to fight it out for 5-6 spot (with Biega as well).
Is JB that desperate to add a W like Kane, that he completely disregards all of his off ice issues? I sure hope that if he does take the risk of acquiring Kane, that he does it at a substantially discounted price.
I'm not the GM thats for sure. But, no more young prospects traded please.

Is JB desperate to add a top 6 PWF that can hit, fight, score and skate, is from the area and has faith in his team's leadership abilities that the can overlook his office problems and hope to 'buy low' ??

i'd say yes. - dbot
It didn't work in WPG, it's not working in BUF. Why would it work here? Would this leadership group even want to try and mentor Kane? I just think it's a bad move. I'm not even thinking of what he can contribute (potentially) on ice. But let's look anyway.
Goals per season: 14, 19, 30, 17, 19, 10, 20
Points per season: 26, 43, 57, 33, 41, 22, 35
Does this scream like a 5.25 million dollar winger?
Go ahead argue that he's been injured some of those seasons. Thats another deterrent for me. Bandaid.

I agree he comes with a ton of baggage but I think if something like that happened it would be a quick project. If he doesn't pan out then expose him to Vegas, or let him walk in 2 years. Again, that's a buy low scenario.

Id say Kane fits the bill for sure but I don't think it's JB's main target. If he could be had cheaper, coming to his hometown might be the only thing that turns him around. If not it's not a detrimental problem for the future. Kane knows he will have to improve and clean up his act if he wants to continue to be paid that high. If he doesn't get his poop together then he wonto be playing in the NHL.

Coworker was at a club Kane was at back in June. She described him as a crazy a**hole towards women.

What Kane would bring is not just points.
As mentioned he adds much needed grit.
He's 6'2, 200+ lbs, 24 years old.
Over the past 3 seasons.
GP 165

Pts 98
Avg .60 pts/pg.
Would i pay 5.25 million for 2 years of a young PF that could easily score 25 goals on the 2nd line?
Yes.
Would i trade for him, knowing he has some conduct problems off the ice and appears to be a pretentious spoiled rich boy?
Yes, if he could be had for cheap (ie the scenario we're discussing Sbisa plus 2nd).

I'd think it would be a hockey tade if Kane is moved.
Buffalo wants to be a playoff team & acquire players ready now.

Well if we get him cheap its good women r not in the NHL 😂
As long as healthy & produces idc i don't watch hockey for off ice drama. - Nighthawk
I agree to an extent.
I mean, if he does horrible things to women, there is no way that you can excuse that and/or look the other way.
He would be immediately suspended without pay.
And i'd be 100% behind that.
If he is not the best team mate and wears trackpants instead of suits...i don't see that as a biggee.

That is prolly about what JB woud offer.
We do not need to be over aggressive for the sake of making a trade.

IF he does horrible....
Still not guity of anything let alone horrible.
So he is a rich brat & immature is all he has shown.
Its hockey not a political election lol
Horrible is what happens in NFL or Voynov in the NHL.
