Need a future center not a winger if you're trading Tanev, which they're not. |

For now ya, but for the future they need a center for when Hank retires. Lots of young wingers in the organization. |

I see. Tanev is good, would be silly to move him unless it's for a great deal. That said I'd be disappointed in a JVR for Tanev swap. |

Me too, considering defence is a bit of a weakness for Vancouver. |

You need a future #1C ...tanev isn't netting you that |

Depends, if you're thinking Joe frickin Sakic/Anze Kopitar/Matt Duchene, then no. But he may get the team a good young center who becomes a very good center.
If you know what I mean? |

Obviously.
But he can get you a center with 1c potential.

Exactly...why would we only trade Tanev? "We should trade Juolevi and Horvat as well at the very least. They are both young and likely have value" Botchford, 2016 |

and the hits keep coming. feckin botch
(I diss botch, but it is still something to talk about. it is just too bad he takes some things to the nth degree and even if it is a bad idea, he pushes it. if a deal is made before he publishes it, he'd be against trading Tanev after he is on his way out the door) |

Matthews signed, that leaves Juolevi unsigned from the top picks....queue the Benning knucklehead comments |

I was surprised Matthews signed. Lou and Mike with their typical magic. |

Nah. He won't be around long enough to care. He does this to piss the media off is my bet. It was never in doubt and he sits back laughing at everyone call him a dinosaur and out of touch.
It's a little game they play in the office |

It was odd that an article about trading Tanev also talked about how he was underrated outside of Vancouver. I'm no expert, but trading an underrated player doesn't seem like the best way to maximize his value. |

Cool story about Evander Kane
So Friend was having a social/benefit for Breast Cancer and they asked the Jets players to sign a jersey to auction off. As they were coming out from practice one day, set the jersey outside the room and all the players signed it willingly and some even gave other stuff to put in the auction signed and such. Kane walked out behind Buff and Buff was signing the Jersey and Kane walked right on by. Buff said something like "hey man sign it, it's for a good cause" to which Kane I guess replied "my autograph isn't free" Which then Ladd was following behind and him and Buff told him to "sign the f-ing thing".
If character is that big of a thing for JB and Co. and they want Evander Kane, I can say that clearly none of them have ever talked the guy. I've heard more off ice issues about Kane during his time in Winnipeg. He's worse then Kassian. Also heard that some players soaked his suit one day after a game for complaining about ice time that game. - manvanfan
Kane is a biyatch, the brass here won't bring in that weasel.
He was a problem in the Peg, the stories out of Buffalo are similar. Don't think he's going to come here and be an angel who puts the work in. He has the skillset, but ravioli for a brain.
I loved the story about Buff throwing his track suit in the showers, cause he didn't adhere to the dress code in Winnipeg. Then he pouted his way to being traded.
No thanks.

I think tanev is very underrated outside Vancouver ...I also think he is very overrated in here ...maybe it will even out |
