Is he a long term top 6 producer?
Potential vs no guarantee is not an easy slam dunk.
Added to that is who or what does it cost us?
Can sign a Hudler for a stop gap prolly for cheaper & less term & lose nobody.
We don't need either Kreider or Hudler at this juncture IMO.
We go big or not at all as in a Landeskog or Schenn if we r giving up big assets.

First off, comparing Hudler to Krieder is stupid and uneducated.

Second, Kreider would be a fantastic addition to the Canucks as a second line LW with room to grow.

Finally, Krieder is way more realistic than Schenn or Landeskog.

Erikson is going to play with the Sedin's, so, moot point really.
However, i do like the 'spread out the scoring' approach that allows more than the 1st line the chance to score.

Vantel and I had this spread out approach conversation. Then that guy wrote that article on not doing it. I don't think spreading it out works. As of last year to prove that "spreading" out did not work compared to the year before.
The sedins were down in points, vrbata down. Bo and Sven and Hansen were up.
I liked the guys point about a middle 6 moving up to a top line doesn't mask that he's not a top line player. Hansen went up and the players he played with were down.
Bo is better then Sutter, Sutter may never put up 40 points and Bo got 40 as a 21 year old. With sutter healthy, bo won't have to play shutdown center. I don't wish Kane on any NHL team.

A free stop gap player vs a player trading with assets is simple math.
As for any deal or signing there is no pressing need to do anything.
Now if u think a Kreider is the missing piece for the future state what it costs us.

If JB goes the route signing Hudler at our price & term i am fine with that as a 1yr stop gap or TDL asset. Cost: only money.

I see neither being traded but both worth targeting if the right deal only.

I still think Iginla has game left in him. If the Canucks could steal him out of there that would be ideal. I hope he realizes Colorado is going nowhere.

If Benning was interested in Pirri or Hudler it would have been done already. He is looking for a young tough twenty goal scorer.

Otherwise keep the cap space and make a move later.
