Every time I see Brad smile I think of the scene in There's Something About Mary when Matt Dillon gets his teeth capped and the bartender calls him chompers. |

Which one was that?

I wouldn't give Kreider any more than $4.25M - 4.5M on a long term deal. He has no stick handling ability and no moves, those aren't learned at this point in your career. His assets are his size and his speed, and he goes games without using them which is why people on here are so torn on him. Some love his potential and see that as reality, others see his potential as wasted talent.
I want him to be who his potential says he can be, but dont think it ever happens. He should score 30 a year with his potential and opportunity (Linemates, Time on Ice, PP, etc)
5 years $22.5M no more. After year 3 he is a bargain at 4.25/year, or he is a bust and the 4.25M isn't as bad as Girardi / Stall in terms of dollars vs cap hit %.

"Per Aaron Ward, the club offered $3.2 million, but the player is asking $4.75 million."
Regardless, I'm saying my opinion... that's all |

He's talking about Brooks article. Hopefully Brooks keeps up his record of being wrong 95% of the time |

Per Larry Brooks' column in the NY Post today:
"The parties are in ongoing negotiations concerning a four- or five-year deal that would buy out No. 20’s first two or three years of unrestricted free agency. It is believed the Rangers are offering in the neighborhood of $4.75 million per with Kreider seeking approximately $5.25 million per." |

Gotcha, hey I've watched Kreider, we all have. I'm afraid of paying him that money and getting the same thing over and over. He didnt deserve to be played ahead of Miller for long stretches of this year, if he was on the third line where he deserved to be for a good point of the time and Miller was on the 2nd, his numbers would be even lower. Lets face it, he was a 15G scorer until the last 2 weeks of the season. |

Do we think Kreider is totally safe on the trade front?
Let's me raise something potentially here.
The Rangers want Shattenkirk.
The Blues bargain power is limited because he is year away from unrestricted free agency.
A deal for Shattenkirk by a team with whom he is an unlikely to sign probably doesn't bring back a ransom for the Blues.
While I don't love the Rangers trading assets for guys that may become unrestricted in year, Shattenkirk obviously wants to be here.
So, my question is this, given the limitation that Shattenkirk's contract places in the Blues and the fact that he probably wants to be a Ranger, does a Kreider for Shattenkirk deal make sense? |

Fair, didn't see that. still deathly afraid of the money he is going to get.
I'd LOVE to be 100% wrong on him and have him get the $5/M per and be a 30 Goal scorer. I think everyone here would.
I'd happily eat crow for 5 years! |

There is definitely risk involved with the money and term it will take to get him wrapped up. If the right deal is out there for him, I wouldn't be opposed to it, but that does further cut into the speed element of the team which I like so much, so it's a double-edged sword. Hopefully he can get better and learn to play a more complete game.
