I don't know if he was promised? JB never stated that. I only heard he signed a 6x6 contract to play for Canucks, no mention of only playing with the twins - VANTEL
I doubt it will ever be openly said out loud. I think I remember WD saying how Hansen was a good compliment to the sedins because of his speed. I don't know why because the sedin game is a cycle game so how speed compliments that. Hansen playing mostly with Bo and Derek put up 33 points. |

Seriously, please name the 23 prospects that are on the team.
If you could trade Grandlund, Baerschi, Rodin, for Landeskog sign me up.
If you plan on trading Bo, JV, Boeser or Tryamkin no thanks...I believe in developing our own quality players. - Makita
Linden said about two weeks ago Canucks will have 14 players under the age of 26 . Three more are on the way in the next few years OJ Demko and Boeser.
We are well onto our way with D&D. Giving up one or two for a more established young star is not being unreasonable |

Eriksson turned 31 today and is signed for six years.
I hope his frame of mind is how can I best fit in with my team not How many points canI put up with the twins |

You draft and develop lots of players, not all are going to play on the team. Some will be traded away to fill other needs. you develop all players to be good. |

No but I'm guessing like vrbata that is kind of the promise that was made. - manvanfan
You can't make promises like that. Lines need to be balanced. Imo work them together on the pp. That was one of, if not the worst areas last season. Arguing lines is silly at this point as we don't see the chemistry until they get some time together. To say that it is a given that he will only be on the Sedin line is just as silly as saying he won't have chemistry with Sutter.

Don't people want to see what Loui can do with the twins before we demote him? - golfingsince
I think we will see the Sedins with Eriksson to start the season, after playing together at the WCoH.
It will be a long year, I am sure we will see some different line combos.

yeah and giving up chemistry to try and find some with someone else 2 years down the road will definitely help the team. |

I agree. However if they really light it up I'd be surprised if they spent much time apart. |

You are totally missing the point . Eriksson gets his 30 , Daniel turns into a passer again and drops his goal production.
Go take a look at the numbers of two yeas ago. Robbing Peter to pay Paul |

It is just like Vrbata.
I am not sure the promise was you will only play on the Sedin line, but more along the lines of a promise to play with them and have every opportunity to make it work.
It makes you wonder how it unfolded with Vrbata being split from the Sedins? Was it WD seeing it not working or the Sedins asking for a different winger?
I thought Eriksson said he signed to play with the Sedins and I think JB said the same thing. while JB is often quoted as saying WD makes up the lines. |

I think it came down to work ethic and chemistry. The Sedins need a puck retriever to stay healthy. Vrbata was not that. I don't know that Eriksson is either. |

 yep
that wouldn't be the worst problem, needing secondary scoring but the primary scoring is still carrying the team.

Is not on too many teams that scoring is divided equally. |

Yes I think I understand that...but to trade away the better prospects would be a mistake.
I can still remember Cam Neely and the 3rd overall for Barry Pederson... it was a stupid trade then and would be akin to trading any of our better prospects Bo, JV, Boeser, Joulevi or Tryamkin for Landeskog.
I know a lot of you guys have hard ons for other teams shiny players, but the end result will bite this team in the ass long term.
We're the 28th best team and not challenging for the holy grail, what's trading away the better prospects for shiny guy get us 22nd best, woohoo... |

Sedins have two years left under contract. When JV develops ( or any other new prospect) in three years , the twins could be/ might be done.
A player like Landeskog ( or another top young player) is ready now . |

But of course it does, that's why I'm against trading our top prospects and all for trading 2nd tier of prospects...if Baertschi, Granlund, Etem, Rodin combination can secure shiny guy go for it.
We will have our own shiny guys in a few years, and if they aren't trading these guys there will be more high end prospects drafted. |

I dont really see it a a "demotion" because Loui is a talented player who could help create balance on the 2nd line and isnt that what you guys are looking for in the end is scoring balance?.....who knows how many years left the Sedins have so maybe its a good idea to see if Loui can gel with any of the younger guys now instead of waiting for the Sedins to hang it up to find out

Yes he is, and then we finish at 16-22 and draft lesser prospect. I like the Sedins but I hope to god they (JB,TL) don't trade to become mediocre, landing Landeskog will not take the Sedins to the SCF. |
