Gibson vs Andersen in Anaheim:
Gibson: 23 years old: 3 NHL seasons: 66 games - .920 2.22 (37-21-4)
Andersen: 26 years old: 3 NHL seasons: 125 games - .918 2.33 (77-26-12)
playoffs:
Andersen: 17-9 - .916 2.34
Gibson: 2-4 - .912 2.84
Andersen

You're a guy who can clearly get by on his looks alone, but adding in the brains makes it unfair for the rest of us. But can you do one of these write ups but using Quick and Bernier? As if that trade just happened. How close were those 2? I'm jaded as (frank) obviously with the Leafs and their goalies. Granted it was Lou who traded for Bernier, still...I'm curious. |

It's my ban dodger, implying we have some sort of secret friendship and it's not really an insult but a friendly tease.

I DONT KNOW LET ME DREAM DAMMIT!!! - Tanooki
At least there's really no risk here for the Leafs. If he's really good then perfect. If not.. meh. Only cost them money, no big deal. |

Bernier barely played at all. That's the main difference. He was even more unproven. |

I like Lou and all. He's a fantastic GM. But he needs to get with the times and not let stubbornness steer his job. It's 2016 Lou not 1999 |

Thanks brah. I'm actually hanging around here because it talks way more about hockey than anywhere else.

That's what I don't understand. Why do people always talk about him being a backup? He was clearly their starter
They had to make a choice and went with the younger option. He's not a cast-off.
Bernier was a backup when he was signed, and continued to play as such. Andersen has been the guy before |

There is zero basis in fact for the line of thinking that Lou's "stubbornness" is what is holding up the Matthews contract.
Speculation and the desperate need for a story in mid-July is all it is |

It's widely speculated. And I believe it. Some of his rules are just really unnecessary. It's pretty simple. Give him max everything he's the number 1 pick that's what they get |

The most games he played in one season is 54, two years ago. I guess at that point you could say he was "the guy" at that point for the Ducks.
Last year he started a little less games (43) and was working more of a tandem with Gibson.
This being said, I never saw him as a backup at all. |

Bet you Edmonton loves that they gave Yakupov max everything. Hey, whatever, he's a number 1 pick. They get whatever they want.
Come on.
The media wants to rile up the fan base and it's clearly working with some of you.
Come October when Matthews suits up, we'll all be wondering why the hell we bothered. |

I'm on Mathews side 100 percent. I read an article that Lou got mad that Liepsic got a one on one interview on hockey night in Canada. He doesn't think rookies deserve the spotlight.
It's a a league where a 19 year old can come in and be a top 10 player in the league now. |

started another 16 (w11-L5) that year in the playoffs. 70 games started is decent |
