Kreider isn't Boyle, he's Anisimov. Huge hype to be the next great thing on Broadway whose name is always found in a sentence with the words "hope, potential," or "was he in the lineup tonight?"

Buffalo has some good young center depth, Reinhart Eichel O'Reilly. You would think in a year or 2 they'd be looking to get rid of 1, most likely OReilly. Any interest there?

You'd probably have to trade Draisaitl to get O'Reilly.

No. O'Reilly carries a $7.5M cap hit through something like 2023 for a guy who has yet to score 30 goals in a season. It would essentially be like paying for Nash's down years every year. Additionally, by that time Hank will be 36 and this entire crop of RFA will be on UFA years. My money says rebuild is looming 2 years from now.

I liked Artie. Artie was also a 2nd rounder who's been a consistent player in the league.

I like Artie as well. Contrary to my initial thoughts though I didn't realized that Artie's current cap hit is $4.5M. So apparently that is just the price these days.

Not sure what to make of it being that $73M cap spread across a roster is around $3.5M per player. For every $5M contract you have to balance it with a $1M ELC or bottom line guy. Can't pay too many sub 20 goal scorers $4M+ or you will be in trouble.

Wasn't the salary cap supposed to solve the overpayment problem?

I agree, I wouldn't want him at that hit either. I just don't see why were due for a rebuild in 2 years. Sheskorkin or how ever u spell his name is one of the top prospects in the league. The rest of our team is well under 30 except Klein Girardi and Nash. Not 1 guy on the team is 34+.

What do u think Bobby Ryan would cost?
Scratch that, he has an atrocious contract.11, 23, 18, 22 goals his last 4 seasons. Signed for another 6 years at 7.25

I'm on the extend Kreider train now, but that info is kind of irrelevant if you don't have a benchmark at what his new career highs are relative to other players

I am of a similar opnion. although I do not agree with this, I have a feeling the team will continue to make horrible trades for short term fixes in an effort to win a cup while Hank can still play... then once he finally moves on, we will have to do a FULL rebuild. with nothing left to build with.... hopefully I am wrong though and our youth takes us to another level soon.

Listen, If I were Tanner I'd be calling Kreider a top 10league wide forward. Don't ever lump me with that neanderthal ever again.

Like RD said it really is useless unless you have a benchmark. For all we know this just means he went from bag of sh1t to semi awful

Kadri=Crosby. Just that Kadri is unlucky.
