I don't think Armstrong is stupid as the Blues GM. Shattenkirk has value and will continue to increase in value. He wants to play in the NE. You need a Nice PP right handed D man. You will end with him either for Pasternak or Spooner and a pick if Spoon is involved .
Backers was a great player this year was his best year in play and leadership. Great guy.... But he was/ is NOT worth the years and terms. He's awesome in the front of the net he's big.... But slow! Very slow! Look at the tape vs SJ. HE WAS OUT HUSTLED ! He has a lot of heart. But the wheels aren't there.

Spooner plus. Pastrnak should SHOULD be untouchable. The Bruins cannot afford to give anymore scoring ability on the wing. It's razor thin past Marchand.

Leaps and bounds last year plus give him that responsibility to be a leader in the team with a nice new long term contract I think it's a great thing for him and the team as well.

Backes is one of those 'heart and soul' guys. Automatically adds 2 mil more to their contracts.( disclaimer, sarcasm) See Ryan O'Reilly in buffalo. Is he worth 7.5 and a lifetime ban from Tim Horton's? Pfffft not a chance.


Still, if backes puts up 35+ points in years 3-5 of this contract, consider the bruins lucky. I do like him for the young guys though. Hopefully DeBrusk and senyshyn are around to learn a thing or two before he is a skating corpse pylon
