It's okay man.
Maybe the Blues try and sign Pirri? - BluemanGuruu
I've been thinking the same thing. Pirri looks to me like the kind of guy that is worth taking a flyer on. I don't know a lot about him, but he seems to have skill. |

With Stastny making $7mil per, I don't see how Steen demands any less. Not sure the Blues go there. Next trade candidate? What do you guys think? |

The goalie position just got a lot dicier for the Blues. Hutton is not a good insurance policy imho, not better than Nilsson. - Jason Millen
Your opinion dosn't even need to be humble.
As of right now the Hutton signing and letting Nilsson go is as stupid as it gets. I actually held some belief in a better system Nilsson would grow and perhaps take over Allen. He had some flaws but they were fixable plus that size is huge. |

It is hard to get a read on Steen. I highly doubt he will be traded but if he were to expect that kind of money he will walk. |

@A_Kalnins Nine teams haven't paid their players per KHLPA, two of those have paid only base salary ignoring bonuses.
Wonder if Sobotka got all of his money or not.....this kind of stuff has to make you think more than twice about crossing the ocean (not to mention all of the other stuff).

Probably a big reason why he and Radulov came back to the NHL. |

he will flourish in Boston with pressure taken off of him. Probably hits 30 goals for a few seasons. 15 it too low of a number for him. Hope the best for him - BluesDroogie
30 for a few seasons? Put down the drugs man, it's been five years since he scored 30. |

So Ek seems to think Shattenkirk will end up in Boston. Not sure who I would want other than Pasternak who is probably not going anywhere. They'd probably offer up Spooner.
Shatty for Marchand would be a pretty even deal. Both guys with one year left before UFA at almost identical salaries. I doubt it happens though, we'd have a hard time extending him and I'm sure Bos has him in their long term plans. |

Sign me up for the Marchand deal but like you said, doubt it happens. |

If Boston squeezes hard Shatty stays put for now. Better for him to walk for nothing and get his play than getnlittle in return. |

I don't know but I bet you he gets bought out the last year of that contract just like Jackman did.
I hate to be a d!ck about it but you can't expect to play at 36 the way you played at 26. Especially when you're not that skilled and you depend on being dominant physically as a major part of your game. - fattyboubatty
This is exactly right. Precisely the reason I was happy the Blues didn't attempt to resign him to a long term deal.
You can say what you want about Doug Armstrong but one of the things I really like about him is that he's not beholden to someone simply for emotional reasons like trying to keep a guy a Blue for his entire career just because.
Over the years he's had the stones to trade Erik Johnson and cut ties with guys like Jackman and Backes. I admire someone who can dissociate himself from emotion to make solid business decisions.
Unlike the previous administration who went out and signed every piece of driftwood ever to have the slightest tie to St. Louis. |

He can get credit for that but he also gets the blame for the Lehtera and Bouwmeester contracts that have handcuffed him this offseason thus far |

Lehtera is making too much money, but...
The guy has played two NHL seasons. He's not a bad 2C and has the ability to become a better North American player. I believe that his point totals will climb once his line mates stay consistent.
Consider this: He's making a mil more than Berglund.
$4.7mm for a 2C is not an extravagant expenditure. |
