I know they may not want him if he falters I'm just saying that we can shift and protect one of our other prospects.
The way I look at it is that with that contract the AAV of 4 million isn't awful, there would be a rebuilding team that could eat that at some point if needed - .....
He will still be young enough for someone to bite on thenpotential for a rebound. Not a terrible deal but he is betting on it looking like a great deal. He has passed on making similar bets in the past.
I am hoping either Buffalo or Edmonton picks up Shatty. RNH is what we need. Maybe Schwartz and Shatty could get us RNH and Yakupov? |

Blues will definitely be quicker next year
Not sure they will be as good
Lets see if Shattenkirk gets dealt and what the return is
Probably a Third place team or WC team next year at this rate
We shall see |

Word is Shatty said no to an extension to EDM, so pretty much close the book on them I think |

Schwartz is better than RNH on his own. We don't need another 50 point forward making 6m a year. |

Would have to have more money going to Boston
and I doubt they take Sobo
and wouldn't we all prefer Bergeron? |

Did I just wake up in some kind of weird vortex or alternate reality poop, Perron is back and Brouwer and Backes both gone?? WHAT THE (frank) IS ARMY THINKING, PUT DOWN THE PIPE MOTHER(frank)ER.
This team just got a whole lot worse.
Allen re signed thats fine. Perron is back? i hate that guy…… Backes 5 years @ 6, Brouwer at 4.5, and we bring back Perron???
can i get a refund on my half season?? This is not something i want to watch.
Since day 1 of the offseason Army has not made a decent move |

Actually, if you use history as a guide, something like 95% of trades and signings above 1m in the offseason will be finished by tonight. |

Definetly kidding about the refund, but man this does not look good. Carter Hutton now as our backup. Who the heck is Hutton, what team was he with last?
Edit: okay he was with Nashville |

We should have taken a swing at Staal for that money.
This sucks. What a bad day for Blues fans. |

Radulov signed with the Habs, thought he just signed again over in the KHL, how is it possible he signs 2 contracts within weeks of each other |

I don't see the need to pay Perron that much. Or at all actually.
I am good with the Allen extension. I preferred him to Elliott last year, wasn't sure about either in the playoffs. Still unsure about Allen as historically he hasn't been good in playoffs at pretty much every level, but he hasn't had much time in the NHL playoffs so hopefully he can get past that.
Ok with Backes leaving as 5 years, 6 per is too much.
Would have rather just went a little more than Perron and just signed Brouwer. Even if it is 2 more years.
I hope there are some more moves as the Blues are not as good today as they were last year.
Schwartz just got some more leverage IMO with Backes and Brouwer both leaving. We really need to sign him now or move him for a forward. |

Disappointed in losing Troy Brouwer. He's a big loss in my book. He would have been my choice for Captain next year.
As expected, someone overpaid for Backes. Boston just signed a third line center for five years. BAHAHAHAHA. Good riddance.
Didn't have an issue with David Perron but I'm surprised by the money. More than he's worth IMO. Same with the Jake Allen extension. Seems like a lot of jack.
Carter Hutton?? That was a bit of a surprise.....
Still some questions to be answered. No need to rush to judgment on what the team looks like on July 1st. But not a banner day for the Note.

Yep.
It's easy too get worked up today. The team looks worse on paper.
But maybe Tarasenko and company needed a shift to take of to the next level.
I still think we need a big star on his line shop that other teams can't key in on him like they can now.
Any of Tampa's forwards available now after Stampkos, Hedman, and Vasy signings today? |

The Allen extension is BAD - See Vasilevsky, Andrei as proof.
"Lightning announce Andrei Vasilevskiy has signed an extension for 3 yrs at $3.5 mil per."

I tend to agree. That length and dollar amount seems unnecessary. Scratching my head on that one.
I'm also scouring the roster looking for the next Captain. I'll be darned if I can find one. Pietrangelo doesn't excite me.
Alexander Steen???
