Looking at that logjam of talent in TB, I am thinking something will have to give. Sure they will most likely trade Bishop this offseason, but they don't have a lot of options when it comes to fitting their guys under the cap with all the paydays coming to these big names.

Mirtle says that the only deal for Taylor Hall with Buffalo they would accept was for Ristolainen.

Happy we passed on that.

Sounds to me that Chiarelli was dead set on trading Hall to the team that would give him its best defenseman.

Severson is very, very talented and Andy Greene is a workhorse.

The tea in NJ doesn't have the flashiest of names, but they always play a respectable hard working style of hockey that lets them overachieve.

So how long until McD wants out of EDM? Lose your friend and roommate early on...That was a huge flop..they traded the better of the forwards for a top 4 d man...

Moving forward with the offseason, this is what I heard, correct me where I am wrong.

Vesey - (Will sign with the Sabres)

Nash - Not coming, won't move NTC to come to Buffalo (Not really interested in him anyways)

Fowler deal still an option. (Original trade including Ennis or Girgs and a draft/prospect)

Hoffman and Boedker are targets.

Thoughts?

It's nice to hop on here this morning and read the team blogs that most would agree lost on those trades and be completely lost... and reading SOME (thats me being civil) Leafs fans be salty that Stamkos turned down being a "God" to stay in Tampa.

Al Muir who is the lead NHL writer for Sports Illistrated said that he is very confident that it'll be done. July 1st is first day that Buffalo can show their hand. Anything before that is just helping other teams remove something from their "big board" to focus on someone else.

Boedker wants a lot more money than he is worth. He is speedy and good on the pp but that's about it. I wouldn't mind getting Fowler, but I won't be surprised if we pass on him now. Hoffman seems like a good player to target if the price is right (I'm not sure what that is). Going after Okposo could be a good move but paying him 6mil a year seems like a stretch. He is a RW so what line does he fit in on?
