If we were to lose a draft pick I might be. Fine no big deal. The biggest issue is him talking openly to the media. While great for us it damages his relationship with his peers and may prevent further discussions from happening if he can't keep his mouth shut. Fyi up yours too.

It's a joke .

TB complaining about us tampering? How about when Ohlund was signed to a 16 page contract 3 minutes into Free Agency by Tampa?

Calgary? How bout when Burke made it known he was flying to Sweden to sign the Sedins when the clock strikes 12?

Some of you guys actually sweating JBs fine?

Slow day huh? He gives you all something to talk about which we all complain that GMs don't do enough of, then do an about face when he gets fined.

It really is embarrassing being lumped into the Canuck fan base with some of you jackasses....

Vantel excluded of course

True but I was not worried about the longs bombs…as the game went on his nickel and dime plays (5-10yd strikes) were really looking crisp…kid has a good arm and the long bombs will come around.
- LordHumungous

I was really worried for awhile. Each long bomb was almost intercepted. and 4 blocked kicks in a row. A lot of luck in first 3 quarters, but we dominated the 4th and last 3 mins of the 3rd

In two years Benning took an old stagnant D and replaced it with a D core that has the greatest potential ever for Canucks.

You may want to change your location to Benning destroyed our team.

I am sure if you don't change it in time there will be a new one soon for you to hate on.

Winners of this years draft.

Montreal .

In Sergachev Shaw. Out Eller ( trying to move him for a year now)

Traded 2 second rounders of this years draft for two future second rounders. This was a weak ass draft year.

Calgary picked up a goalie for cheap and a power forward. Carolina and Buffalo did good.

Other winners anyone who drafted top 10 .

Losers , any team that invested their rebuild in this years draft.

Good job Benning and please shut up

- VANTEL

Agreed... Montreal nailed it. I was hoping we'd draft the Russian but the reality is that he's a bigger homerun swing and the Nucks couldn't afford to take a chance like that at 5OA. I'm happy with their decision.

I'm really looking forward to watching Sergachev and Subban play catch on the power play one day soon though...

He's a great scout and a bad GM... Can that be argued?

Yep. You can do a full D rebuild in 2 years.

We needed younger faster bigger stronger , he did all that in two years. He is no Peter Chirelli who hasn't dome anything yet except let things fall in his lap but who is

It absolutely can be argued....2 years emo, 2 years.....

For the record, I hope the Canucks struggle one more year to get another top 5 pick, then I'm expecting poop.....

With all the new pieces being transitioned in, it wouldn't be unreasonable to expect that.

Here's to hoping that the management group can let go of this rebuild-on-the-fly idea (giant fail last year) and just start a rebuild. That way Benning wouldn't feel any pressure to make deals and could just focus on drafting and developing. If no more picks and prospects need to get moved out for "foundational pieces", Benning can just work to his strengths.

Injuries played no part of it?

Benning had half a year to make a substantial trade and didn't because he wanted the draft pick. He did exactly what we screamed for and now you are blaming him for doing it

You're right. I'm probably being too critical. I just hope he settle in and stops making trades.

His asset management drives me a little nuts, that's all.

Edit: But that's not a big deal, right?

His asset management? He traded a second and a fourth . Did you see who was picked in those spots?

I think the Oilers did well in the first three rounds of the draft yesterday and two of those three are 50/50 chances of ever playing bottom pair or bottom 6 in the NHL.

Benning had stuff he could have done yesterday but didn't because of the list of prospects.

Why would Montreal take two high second round picks and swap them out. Benning did enough scouting this year to know don't get fascinated by fools gold.

Rasmus Aspund a 5'11 C who had 4 goals and 8 assists last year in the SEL was picked up with Canucks second round pick. Somehow I think Barkov's job is safe.

Benning was offered to trade down and pick up a second. He said no thanks.

We could all keep dreaming about what we like and I hope that Juolevi turns out to be Erik Karlsson 2.0 then that'll shut everybody up. The rest of the picks are simply projects.

I would of liked Hansen gone, i just really hope hes not playing top 6 again this year
- phyllee[/quote

I wouldn't mind Hansen in the top6 if we had scoring spread out and Lucic or Ericsson on the 3rd line
