Tells me how lucky we are to have those three cups in six seasons.
Stan did well with acquistions like JO, Zus, Vermette & Desi, though. - blackhawk24
Sure did. With all the playoff movement which team has the most amount of their own picks at the nhl roster ?
Which team has the most Cups in the cap era ?

Not happening unless AA goes...Someone will pay Lucic $5-$6 mill. - Al
Your thoughts on the odds any of 7, 15 or 50 being traded for minimal salary return this summer? |

Hawks to approach Jamie McGinn's agent on 7/1.
Out on Lucic, "unless there's a trade of (a larger contract player)" to make him affordable.
Also, for the first time I have heard that they will talk to Campbell's agent. To this point, I have only heard of Campbell's interest in the Hawks. But that will only get done if Campbell comes very cheap. - John Jaeckel
Happy to hear that. Been saying his name for a while now. |

Thanks JJ--- Sounds like the Hawks are still open to trading one of their players with a larger contract-- it could happen--
IMO if they do trade a significant contract that opens up $$ space-- I would prefer to spread that money out on a couple players rather than on one big contract with term--
Ladd + McGinn or Martin?
Hawks lost important character and determination with Shaw heading to Habs-- curious what the locker room make up will be now-- seemed like Shaw was the chatter box that kept it pretty light and fun--
Happy for Shaw to be with an Original 6 team-- and to get paid for his efforts-- who knows what his back injury history will allow him to do-- and for how long-- |

Seriously....not. Plus he is coming off a $4.4M cap hit. Yikes. - blackhawk24
Yep, but his value is lower -- probably closer to the $2.2m he counted against the cap in Chicago, Carolina, and Los Angeles after Florida retained half his salary.
Left wing. Has been successful here (at times, anyway). Has pretty solid possession numbers. Very possibly can be had cheaply. Why not?
I don't see how the Hawks manage to pick up a true 1LW without moving $$$. They're going to have to fill out the roster with guys they pick up from the bargain bin. If Versteeg's cheap enough, they could do a hell of a lot worse. |

My view is the one to go should be AA....I would take my chance the wingers on that line can function with another center for about 1/2 the cost.
I still say there is a chance he can go...Otherwise the Hawks are married to him for the foreseeable future.
IMO-Chances of either of the other two being dealt is less than 10%. |

Versteegs $$$$ doesnt matter. Better off playing a Hog there . Versteeg has been a bum for the last 5 years.

Guessing they offer McGinn $3.25-3.5M for 3 years. Maybe they can swing a lower line contribute for $1-1.5M. Wouldn't be much cap room left ~$2M...? |

I think he'll get about $3 mil AAV, which will be out of the 'Hawks price range for a bottom-six player.
He's one of the better fourth line players in the NHL and he can contribute some (albeit slight) offense. He's also only 27 so he's probably going to get a nice pay-day from some team looking to improve their bottom-six.
There's no way he's taking any more $1 mil dollar deals. - TommyHawk

(1) Our view of him is skewed by how awful he was after coming back from an injury in 2015 (never mind the fantastic season he was having before that).
(2) He's a better possession player than anybody else that's been mentioned in this thread, which is an area the Hawks definitely need help in.
(3) There's a decent chance you can fit him on your team without moving Crawford, Anisimov, or Seabrook, and still have money left over for a bottom-4 defenseman. [This is key. No sense in signing him to a big contract. Not sure what kind of interest he's getting as a UFA.] |

Yeah. Versteeg in the bottom 6. Better than a rookie with no NHL experience. Probably out of the Hawks price range though |

Al, how much doe do they have exactly, not countin the Panarin Extention? I thought they had about 11 mill ,right? Now regarding AA, he is the "big" center this team coveted for years, ya trade him ,especially after his line mates win the hardware, now you look like a real jackass in the Saad deal, Kruger is who they should be looking to deal, given they need space and probably with a little seasoning have a center in the system to slot in.
Look, I like Milan Lucic since the kid came in the league, but with in reason, not something stupid. I would consider it a sucess if they got aggressive and came home with McGinn, Martin and Campbell. Figure 8 mill for those 3players. The other factor is Toews ,he does not want a bother season of "auditions" or stone hands on his wings plus McD is right in Stan's ear about getting Toews what he needs.so who knows??? Puzzling here. |

yep, 4 years at 4.1 per year. Not sure what he's going to get moving forward. Maybe 1.5 -2.0 for a few years. He's 30.

Me. I played center in mites. I'm now 5'10" and 220. NOONE is moving me out of the paint and I'm a tip in machine. And for $50/game, I'm a steal for Stan. - Lido_Shuffle
Hold out for medical and DENTAL,
..... plus a 12-pk ..... per game. |

And, for an extra $100, I will do Rocky a solid and rub out Scuderia.
Presto, extra $1.1m to sign a line mate for Toews. |

Such an odd feeling thinking our team isn't a Cup contender heading into the season.
I haven't felt this way since 2010-11.

He has made roughly 30 mil to this point and seems to get kicked around team to team as of late.I can see him doing what he wants to do and the money may not be the most important thing at this point of his career. |

Good for him. Seriously.
Getting the two picks for him was huge because we could not afford that obviously nor is he probably worth it...but when he's cashing someone else's paychecks the more power to him. |
