I believe Schenn tops out at 60 points. Id be surprised if he is a regular at 60. He's also not the type to make others around him better so his point totals inflate his true value. The idea of trading Schenn would be to find a guy who can reach his peak when the young defenseman reach theirs. That way the forwards are staggered in age instead of all of them being late 20s early 30s when the defensemen are mid 20s.

The way I view it is that if we do in fact trade Schenn in a deal that moves us up for a better center or LW prospect , we then have roughly 4.5-5.5 M plus the salary space we already have to sign through FA. Not necessarily a big fish FA, but say 2-3 guys that can fill our depth. Hell maybe we could even take a run at Okposo if we can also move Streit and Read in or after a Schenn trade. All of this is a lot of assuming and guessing though.

Lol I guess I only have 5 as well, my point is if you get yak for a 2nd you can juggle him around the lineup and see what happens.

I dont realistically think edm will trade him for a 2nd, but id give a 2nd and a 3rd or 4th for him. Think it could help the team in the short term with no long term repercussions.

Thats hexys goal this offseason isn't it? Get better now, but not at the expense of the future.

Hope the Gudas signing doesn't prevent Hextall from bringing in a legit 25 goal scorer on July 1. Flyers desperately need another player who can put the puck in the net.

I miss being entertained on days like this. I understand and respect patience, but damn I miss the excitement of knowing half the team would/could get traded.

That is as likely as anything. I can see him getting 20 goals and 40-some points on, say Las Vegas

But eventually, he is going to be gone

Trades will always be more exciting. I'm fine with staying at 18 if moving up costs too much. The 2nd round is where I would really like to move up.

no, just a 2nd for Yak. straight up, nothing else. i get the feeling some people just dont want him whatsoever, dont even want to give up a high draft pick for him.

I'd like to keep Schenn at the right price. He's pretty streaky, but he had a solid year last year. I think he can be a consistent 25 goal scorer. Don't see a reason to trade away from an area that is a need.

It would be nice to see Jake have a shooter with him, maybe it would take some pressure off feeling he has to shoot a lot and let it come natural like 2 years ago. Sadly Yak is not that player, doesn't know where to go on the ice.
