If it were RNH over Yak I'd feel quite a bit better about doing it. Zero interest in Yak.
- hereticpride

Exactly -- he's not as good as Schenn. Why would you do that? That makes no sense -- if you think whoever at 18 is probably going to be able to play, who the hell at 4 is worth dumping Sanheim for?

Laine is different. But Matthew Tkachuk is supposed to be exactly what Schenn already is. So why would you do it?

Streit is much more likely to move at the deadline but if a team comes calling tonight I'd be pretty damn thrilled.
- hereticpride

Yea, thats how I feel about it..and if hes playing out of his mind, unless we get a 1st for him, id probably just keep him for the playoffs and let him walk in the off season.

I am pretty happy with the position we are in with streit. High reward low risk right now.

Because unless we trade him for a younger version of him, its not worth trading him right as hes about to enter his prime. He will get paid, but we still have leverage here, and I really dont think there will be an offersheat coming his way with the cap situation most of the league is in.

I have no problems disagreeing with moves -- it's a message board, right? Opinion is OK; time tells what the right call was.

But for that proposed trader, yeah I would be frustrated because what do you get out of that that you don't already have?

Seriously, what do you get?

A worse forward in Yakupov, another prospect like Sanheim, and you lose the right to pick at 18. What are you getting out of it that makes it worth doing?

- AllInForFlyers

The forward I get at 4 is what I really want. I am not as down on Yakupov. I think a change would help him.

I also am not having to pay possibly 5-5.5 million for a forward I might not believe in.

Just say I get Puljujarvi at 4 and Yakupov.

That's two top 6 wingers, my opinion, for the price of Schenn. Now I also have money to try and spend a little more on possibly a vet center.

These are just my opinions.

I think you need to go back an rewatch some of last season. I'm not saying a trade is the answer but that core absolutely struggled to score consistently.
- hereticpride

Over course of their careers? Your asking to go backwards years by trading 24 year old Schenn.

Yeah, if I'm moving Sanhiem in a package I want Laine or Puljujarvi. Nothing less.

Exactly. This proposed trade makese NO sense, and I can't believe several Flyer fans on here are interested in this deal. Whoever they take at 4 in this draft is probably 3 year away from their ceiling which is probably what Schenn is just now becoming today. Then you throw in arguably your 2nd best prospect at a premium position. They get nothing out of this deal. You think they couldnt score enough last year, just wait til you remove 60 points out of the lineup

He will be re-signed.

I'm not a fan of Manning, but it's kind of weird to me that people can't see that the management like him. They kept him on the team all season, they played him ahead of a $3m free agent many times.

You're entitled to your opinion -- absolutely. We all are.

I just don't think that dumping Sanheim on the hope that Yakupov isn't a bust, not picking at 18, and then hoping the guy at 4 is as good as Schenn...man, that's a lot of hope and prayer

So if Hextall feels that moving Schenn, 18 and Sanehim for Yakupiv and number 4 do you get mad?

Everyone is stating Hextall will do the right thing for this team. What if that is what he thinks is the right thing?

- J35Bacher

I trust Hextall, but that doesn't mean I like Yakupov as a player.

A trade up for Tkachuk makes no sense. However if Hextall views Dubois or Brown as a future #1 center, then it would be worth it. A future #1 center is the last piece of the puzzle IMO.

Laine or bust for me. The chance of Sanhiem hitting is too great to miss out oh him for less. D wins championships, and is also the hardest to acquire. We finally have a potential 1 a and 1 b pairing that could be all home grown, I dont think people understand how well we are going to be set up for the next few years.

No way im trading that potential for a 30 goal scorer.

I think if the Flyers got to 4 they would be hoping for either Puljujarvi to fall to 4 or Dubois.

I don't think Tkatchuk would be the target.

It's like the AMac of music.
- hereticpride

But I'm classing it as a See them once and be done with it for now. I didn't buy the long term contract.

A lot of people I know say it's a good live show. So I'm going once.

The rest of the weekend is proven good live music. Paul Simon (Saturday) then Peter Gabriel and Sting (Sunday). I'm going to be a zombie at work on Monday but it will be well worth it.

Add in the draft this weekend and my brain might explode.

Again, I only know what I have read, but if the ceiling on those guys after 3 is Schenn from last season, then it makes no sense to take 60 points out of your lineup today to see if that is true in 2019

Are you kidding me? I think Hextall has done some amazing work, but I would be straight pissed at a deal with Yakupov in it

You'd be pissed until he scored 40 and then people would talk about the steal Hextall made.

lol, I wonder if the price to move up wont be too high (Say 10ish) considering how deep this first round is projected to be.

I also wish there was more scouting reports done on 30-60. Id like to see how strong this yrs 2nd round looks.
