Sure you can just look at the building's other main tenant.

Oh wait that's not Hextall's process..

My comment got deleted. I asked him who his "great source" was considering he hasn't been right on anything in years.

Just think how many first rounders he could trade Ben Simmons for.

I hear all the optimism about the sixers on the radio about Ben Simmons and now the Sixers are set.

But after being dreadful and losing purposely for 3 years can they at least try to win before getting excited.

This year, they'll just lose because they're still not that good. They are banking a lot on a bunch of unknowns, a few guys that don't seem to work that well with what they have, and a former cripple.

I really hope they do turn it around and win a championship. I really do. But I just don't see it and, after purposefully losing for 3 years, I won't shed a tear if they never do.

That's how I feel.

I struggle to get behind a team that purposely made an effort to lose and roster a team of non-nba guys.

I honestly believe there is more risk in giving him a 5x5 contract than trading him

Mike Richards hit 30 goals twice. Now he was 2 years older. but he was moved at 26 and it brought back a nice return for the Flyers.

Yes I know Richards won cups in LA but he really wasn't the same player after the trade.

I agree with this. And I think Hexy is heavily considering moving him. If I'm not mistaken, Hexy was with the Kings when they drafted him? If I am correct, then Hexy arguably has the best judgement on Schenn, and even may not think as highly of him as others do. He's been involved with trade rumors for the last couple seasons, including this offseason and regular season so maybe Hexy really isn't sold on him. But, one thing Hexy did do was challenge Schenn in the beginning of the season and Schenn showed up and accomplished the challenge. All the props to him, but as some have said it was a contract year; can he constantly replicate this season, or even improve from it? Who knows. its possible, but for $5-5.5 x 5, I want a guarantee I will get 50-60 points without a large worry of consistency issues.

yes...which means...sign Schenn and trade him in 2 years

22-26 are the most productive years of a players career

ultimately it will come down to contract or return. I think its in the flyers best interest to keep him around for a bit. If someone wanted to pay a lot for him then Id be okay with a trade too. I dont see that happening so he will be more valuable to the team for now. I fully expect Hextall will get him signed.

Hextall oversaw the AHL club when the decision to trade Schenn for Richards was made if not mistaken. Take from that what you will. I personally have not yet seen the consistency I want to see from Schenn to warrant a 5 year deal(unless the money comes in low)

Seriously? He's an RFA not a UFA. I don't see a scenario where moving Schenn makes sense for the Flyers. You've already got a top 6 forward with decent size and solid shot/finish. What are you looking for? Newer, shinier? The kid's part of the core IMO.

8 different teams have won an NBA championship in the past 33 years. All of those teams (with the exception of the 05 Pistons) had true Hall of Famers and superstars lead them there.

The Sixers needed to do something. They were stuck in the middle zone. Never good enough to make it to the next level, but not bad enough to get top picks. Only real way to change things up is to lose. Just the way that leauge works.

They made a radical decison. Hopefully it pays off.

I see Schenn as a 45-50 point guy who is good on the PP, but weak at ES. I feel like the Flyers can do better even if the replacement doesn't score as many points.
