I could not be more supportive of the Toews is overrated argument, in all seriousness. |

One thing I feel getting continuously overlooked is that we need to sign a veteran back up goalie. Anyone worth anything is going to be $2-3M. So cap space saved is not $5.75M as everyone keeps saying. It's closer to $3M.
If cap space is the issue, dumping Kunitz to Florida for a 5th would be better cap savings. |

Wideman and 35 for MAF - FLflames34
Wideman and the 35th is worth a 7th round pick salary dump move. No thanks. Bickell type offer |
|
|

Any one who questions Toew's is an idiot. Yes both Crosby and Toews are the 2 best in hockey. By the way points is a good regular season stat playoffs is what counts. Look at some of the great leaders who sacrificed points for hard minutes and leading both on and off the ice by example.... Yzerman for one... |

What if....Murray gets hurt? What if Murray falls to earth? What if the defense plays like they did during reg season and Murray can't handle it? What if's can be played from all angles. Anyways, dead horse has been beat 10 fold.
Can't wait to see some trades! - kgrpitt

People have mentioned Elliot. I think moving Kunitz might be the best answer because of the younger options they have there now but finding someone to take his salary for one more year might be tough. |

Is Zatkoff not looked at as a reliable back-up for Murray? I am legitimately asking. I have only seen him play once or twice. |

2 Evgeni Malkin GP124,G 48,A 81,PTS 129 (1.040 ppg)

Ok, I'll mention one who sacrificed points for hard minutes and leading both on and off the ice by example, especially in these playoffs...Crosby. |

I question the idiot who gave Toews that amount of money. He simply isn't worth that. To me, he shouldn't be making north of 7.5 and that is being generous. |

We're talking Malkin vs. Toews. Not Crosby vs. Toews, right? I think the chart just shows that Malkin produces offensively more than Toews. I dont think anyone can argue that, right? Toews is definitely a more 200ft player, but the pens are built to outscore you not shut you down.
I love Toews and think he's a gamer. I can't remember who they played a few years ago in the playoffs, but they were down 1 in an elimination game and shorthanded with less than 2 minutes on the clock and Toews somehow scored a shorty. That's a gamer. But I'd still rather have Malkin.
So Hawks would rather have Toews and Pens would rather have Malkin. Which is great bc that's exactly what's going to happen. Everyone is happy! |

Fleury is getting traded and Dupuis is coming off the books. That leaves plenty of Cap space depending on the return. |

Can he play 20 games throughout the year as a backup with spot starts? Meh, we could probably get by.
If Murray got hurt for an extended period, or had an issue in the playoffs, where we needed to rely on Zatkoff? Hell no. |

I still think Murray got ripped of for not winning the Playoff MVP..... Lets see who Team Canada plays on the ice when the game matters in the world cup...

There are a lot of butt hurt Egos here. Who cares if player A is better than player B....the game of hockey is far more enjoyable when you just enjoy each player for their differences rather then trying to compare compare compare all the time.
Those that continue to want to appoint so and so as the "best" player are delusional and you only get lost in your own little Ego of butt hurt-ness!
