Stamkos is coming to Toronto IMO - but not for 9 to 9.5mill. I think he signs in the 10 to 10.5mill range. I see Buffalo and Detroit offering more money than the 10 to 10.5mill range that I think he will sign in Toronto for.
Basically, IMO, he may take a bit of a discount to play in Toronto but not at the 9 to 9.5mill range you suggested.

Can't wait to see him in a Leafs jersey.

OK, but he traded a kid for a solid veteran for a playoff run. It looks bad in retrospect but the move made sense.

Personally, I'd say trading Randy 'Rocket' McKay and Jason Arnott PLUS a first round pick to Dallas for Joe Nieuwendyk and Jamie Langenbrunner was much worse move....

Kinda like trading Petr Sykora for Jeff Friesen and Oleg Tverdovsky....

I've got nothing bad to say about Lou Lams. He's awesome. Just saying everyone loses trades because no one can see into the future.

Calling him Schenn 2.0 just makes you look silly.
He is an agile very good skating big dman that is capable of shutting down the other team.

The only similarity he has with Schenn is that they both like to hit guys - accept one of them actually play defense really well.

Pair him with Rielly and that's a very nice top 2 for this team.

Edit, also, as for Winnipeg willing to deal him....umm, have you seen their defense? Someone needs to move.

I agree Campbell is old, but would cost nothing but money to sign. He still played a solid game last year and could compliment Rielly.

I don't think Winnipeg is willing/eager to trade Trouba, in fact the last report is they are not even listening to offers. In my opinion him and Rielly would make a solid pair but it would cost us a lot.

Not sure what you mean. You think Stamkos will take less overall money because he gets more upfront (cap hit is averaged out so that doesn't really matter). Maybe a bit but not the different between 9mill and 11mill....that's leaving $14mill on the table and highly doubtful, even if more paid up front, that he will leave that much on the table overall.

I think regardless, he will be a Leaf soon enough.
