I know we don't want Bartowski back on the team full time, but would it be a good idea to sign him to a 1 way 850k(he does this after July 1 if no team signs him) and play him in Utica as a call up? We need defensive depth and he was a decent 7d for us last year. I don't really see any upgrades that would sign for a low enough hit to be buried in AHL and still clear waivers. - Retinalz
Bartowski's mom isn't welcome back |

I can't find this anywhere.

"After asking the league for shorter road trips next season, they've still got three doozies: six games in nine nights in early November, five games in eight nights in early December and six games in 10 nights in February. No seven-gamers this year, though!"

FWIW, it won't be interesting in the least for Canucks fans to watch what happens in Toronto with Freddie Andersen. No Canucks fan I know of gives a shiite.
I think Carol is auditioning for a job with Toronto media with her regular Toronto comments... - kaptaan

We're never going to get a "good" schedule. You can't do anything about geography. |

Looking at the schedule this team will be hard pressed to make the playoffs.
In March and April which are the last 2 months of the season, There is 20 games during that span.
16 are against playoff teams.

It doesn't matter what Benning does on Friday there will be people who hate the pick or the fact he didn't trade down, and those people already hate Benning's moves. |

Obviously there's geographical issues, but maybe there could be something can be worked out to assist with travel.
That was my impression when TL and JB approached the league about travel and this year there aren't any 7 in 10 trips, a few other teams speak out, maybe the league re-evaluates somehow, someway. |

So it's just the schedule holding back this team? - A_SteamingLombardi
Well you hope for an easier schedule to finish out the season.

Cowan? Wtf u off ur meds - Nighthawk
Can't be much worse than Edler, at least we wouldnt be paying 4.5+ for -36 seasons if he can match Edler's best performance.Cowan isn't afraid to make eye contact with opponents in front of his net. Something almost every Canuck fan in any part of the province with backbone(not Vancouver) likes to see. Something this team desperately was lacking last year on the back end. I mean maybe you love Biega, and Weber as the 7th D. But on the 2nd worst team in the west I really don't see it as a gamble. We have nothing to lose. If it wasn't for mcdavids injury, we would have finished dead last in the west and gave Toronto a good run for their money.

on similar topic - What on earth is Yzerman doing?? Does the guy not seem like the most stubborn ba&tard? you have to think by now (with just over a week to go) that he has completely F-ed up resigning Stamkos - how could he let it come to that? Granted, maybe he knows something we all don't OR IMO he's taking the hard-nosed GM role WAY too far - won't he be remembered as the guy who lets the most sought after free agent in years go? imagine if TBL start to decline. It reminds me when Orlando lost Shaq in 1996 - pure stupidity. - Brooks_Light
He's made a mess of the stamkos situation at least publicly and his start with Drouin wasn't to tip-top either. Guess he's to busy with his weird obsession with Porches' to remember that Detroit gave him a chance the year they drafted him and treated him well his whole career.
