Benning would be roasted for this. - bazz
It's a little high but not awful. Leafs need a goalie. Anderson isn't elite but far better then the garbage they have.
He's better then Talbot, Halal, Miller, Flurry, Smith, and both of Dallas goalies. He's probably in the Markstrom range . Not great, but solid. |

Oops. Sorry. Behind the times. Subban was the highest but now has been passed...
1. Patrick Kane $10,500,000
2. Jonathan Toews $10,500,000
3. Alex Ovechkin...
4. Evgeni Malkin ...
5. P.K. Subban ...
6. Sidney Crosby ...
7. Corey Perry
Then $11M per is in the realm of possibility. - bloatedmosquito
And none of those guys hit the open market. As I said the chance to add a guy like stamkos at the cost of just cap space never happens. |

The Islanders with Snow might give him a max offer since they're not signing Okposo and Friesen. Buffalo hot on the rumour trail for him as well. If you have the cap room why not.

The Islanders are attractive. A ton of cap, Tavaras and a young roster. And as I said. I expect a crazy offer from snow |

Did the russians start attacking welsh fans? - bloatedmosquito
Not apparently. I laughed to myself a week ago. The Russians somehow managed to solve 1500 years a the English and the Welsh fighting and warring in 24 hours. Last week the English and the Welsh joined forces (which is unheard of) to fend off the Russians. |

Sorry bud I can't agree with your assessment, Garrison was a solid defense-man when traded and would still be number 4 on this team...you're talking about the canucks defense one of the worst in the league..
You're allowing your hatred to cloud your judgement. - Makita
I don't hate Garrison, is a local guy and a good dude. I just don't think he is a very good hockey player. I difference in opinion doesn't imply hatred |

Maybe. Canes have TONS of cap though, especially with Staal's deal coming off the books. IF it's about money, that's the team. |

With all the rumours of Carolina possibly moving and Quebec being the prime city for the move I don't think that Stamkos will sign there with the highest personal tax rate in North America, doubt it?

It's not about blowing up the team. It's about hanging on to picks, moving away expiring contracts at the deadline if you're out of the playoffs and signing guys shorter term in the summer.
Benning traded away two former 1st round picks within months of each other before either had turned 21.....patience. - golfingsince
I'll take Sven over Shink anyday.
Patience not needed on a bust.

All these years and Schneider has still netted the best return
& to think Vancouver turned down more from Edmonton - classic321
Why help a rival?
As for what was offered who knows.
Bo is here vs speculation.
I'll take Bo👍 |

So it's fair to label the 21 year old as a bust but we need to give the 23 year old time. OK - golfingsince
1 is in the NHL the offer pops in for a cup of coffee.
The 23yr old has a work ethic the other a perimeter floater.
Edit
Who wants to protect Shink for the expansion draft anyways? |

As I said the other day. Given our roster make up and age I believe the Okposo is a far better fit. Youngwr and probably around 1 mill cheaper - Bieksa#3
Martin is even cheaper & young as well.
Our bottom 6 doesn't scare anyone. |

So another "he's gone so he sucked" theory?
I guess it's much better to have an asset not worth protecting? |

If u believe he was an asset. Glad he is gone.
Lets see if the Flames bother to protect him.

Have you seen real estate prices in Vancouver? It's a nice place to live with solid locker room. Definitely worse places to play! Most cup contenders don't have he cap space
Edit. People said the same thing after the shiity Torts year and we signed the best goalie and second best winger on the market - CanuckDon
They overpaid one and promised the other ice time with the Sedins. They'll probably have to do both to sign Ericcson.
It's true that a lot of contending teams can't afford what he's going to be asking for. |

What's wrong with Raymond 2.0 and I really don't think you understand what "best case scenario" means.
He was a pretty decent hockey player in his prime, fan expectations and injuries have altered people perceptions I think.
Do you expect every prospect to turn out as an all-star? |

Collectively though, it means millions. It's that kind of cash crunch that perpetuates the playoffs at all costs mantra. - golfingsince
Millions are a bit of a stretch as few unruly season ticket holders aren't going to make ownership and MNGT panic. If it spills into a few thousand disgruntled season ticket holder it could spiral into something else so I get what you are saying. Asses in the seats mean cash for potential playoff teams. But it's year two of Benning…Let's see what happens in year 3-4 and see how his vision is shaping out. |

I wonder if we'll land Nash, and if so how much salary NYR will keep. Only a couple of years on his deal I think, he could be pretty much free. - golfingsince
Nash stated publicly before he won't play in Canada…guy is a tool. Not sure why you would want him here. |

Yes but only in Carolina is the sons of Karmanos who are part if the ownership group suing the elder Karmanos for supposedly taking out a huge over $100 million loan against the team. Financial trouble of the owners is never good. |
