Wow what a strange list. Abramov at 51 screams this year's Kucherov. Dahlen not even in 2nd. Logan Stanley above Rubtsov.

I am completely ok with the draft going the way of this ranking. Just some really surprising things. I was big on Borgstrom and they have him as almost a 1st. Other stuff too. Kunin, Abramov, AND Dahlen sounds like a fine draft to me personally.

McKenzie's mock is usually pretty good, in terms of accuracy. He talks to everyone.

Listen. Umberger sucks...but you can't help but think the Flyers at least broke even with that trade.

Interesting. Let say the Flyers did trade for Hartnell (1/2 retained) and the 3rd overall.

1. What do they give up?

2. Who do they take a 3?

I had no intention of bringing Umberger into the conversation. More intrigued by the thought of getting the 3rd overall.

Bob does his homework & consults various teams so it's not without its merit

Who says it wasn't? It's based on 10 NHL scouts. It's the most accurate list probably. Still leaves a lot of room for error. Wasn't Barzal 7 last year? Konecny 14?

Like I said, draft wants to go down this way, I won't gripe.

I don't question its and Bob's validity as far as talking to NHL scouts (although a ranking of 10 scouts is not the end all be all and the draft is always volatile)...I question the scouts' choices is what I mean.

Columbus is in pretty dire need of Centers. I can't see them moving back to 18 and passing up all the Center's projected to go top 10. If I were them I trade back to take Keller and grab a youngish 2nd line Center in the trade.

True enough. But we always see a divergent path at some point of the first round-look at Boston's three 1st rounders last summer.

With news leaking about the gudas negotiation does 2 2nd rounders get the job done (this year and next year) for a trade to happen this week?

He's a RFA so I wouldn't expect a trade, although it's certainly possible.

I don't imagine many lists will be anywhere close to accurate after pick #3.

Even trying to rank 4-20 is a bit of a bum exercise this year.

See, the thing about Andersen that made him valuable is that he was good for the salary he was making, even if you gave him a raise. He was making, like, 2.3 or 2.6 or something. I thought he'd come in around $3.5-3.75, and that's where you get the value

But hell, if you're giving him $5...man. That's just a number that I wouldn't have paid, but as always, I'm just a guy on a laptop

It's actually beyond 20 where I start getting confused.

Hextall has been talking about emphasizing size....which is fine provided they are good in everything else, but there's a lot of guys around our picks that scream "big guy, low ceiling"....god I hope we don't fall into that trap. More so with the 2 2nds.

Yes, Hextall seems adamant about not rushing a kid and they will need two stable goalies. Especially given that neither Mason nor Neuvirth is exactly Lou Gehrig or Cal Ripken when it comes to injury avoidance.
- Jsaquella

So far they have proven superior at disease avoidance though

Despite that comment. What picks in your opinion has he made that show that trend?

Are you worried he thinks there is skill so he can focus on size? I dunno man I just see 2 years worth of valuing skill so I'm not too worried about what he might say in an interview

I don't think they will... Hexy was really underscoring the need to add "skill", too.
