Hes a centerman and alot more energetic then Kessel and i like Kessel.
He also plays Wing and plays PP and PK so not sure thats one dimensional. - nbboy
Son. Go get me a beer and have a seat beside me.
You see, son, there are two types of people in this world. Those who Kessel their Stamkos and Pageau their Giroux's. And then there are sane normal people like you and me who sit back and wonder wtf is going on. They key here is to just back and enjoy the comedic aspect of it rather than trying to undo their Turris out of their Toews.

I hope they get Stamkos at $10M and he puts up less points than Kessel did here while making $8M. - daeth
Stamkos can put up more points than Kessel but he does need decent linemates. He needs chemistry with those linemates like he had with St Louis. Perhaps Marner, JVR or Nylander might be able to but only time will tell. Since St. Louis left the Lightning, Stamkos usually played with Killorn and Callahan who are not really noted for their passing and setting up plays. Playing Stamkos with Kucherov weaken the remaining lines. If Tampa doesn't resign Stamkos, I hope Toronto signs him since he looks great in Blue and White. Cheers

I think Tampa Bay is resigned to the fact that they won't re-sign Stamkos.

I dont get why people think we got nothing. Sure we didn't get a ton but I wouldn't call a very recent 1st round pick in Kapanen, another first albeit late, and Harrington as nothing and being left empty handed. Especially with the contract length Kessel has. - systemtool
I don't know that Tkachuk will be better than Nylander, though. Nobody does. I think I'd rather just stick with the piece we have, rather than ADDING a 1st rounder to the trade and hoping the guy we traded for turns out better. - WingmanWillie
As you are entitled to yours. I am not saying Nylander is going to be a bad player, in a few years I could say yeah your right Nylander is much better then Tkatchuk.
But in Tkatchuk I see someone who no doubt can score and also set up goals on the rush but also down dirty in front of the net. He is bigger and stronger then Nylander will ever be. He also drops the gloves when he has too. Nylander has a ton of skill but soft like warm butter. If we had a big team having a small guy with skill is fine but we seem to have MANY small guys with skill. Too many. We need size and I don't mind giving up one of our skilled small guys for a big skilled guy.

I don't get why so many Leafs fans want the Leafs to constantly fail
Stamkos is about as one dimensional as it gets. - daeth
Nope! He actually plays a decent defensive game. Will be interesting to see the impact of the blood clot incident on his one timer and his willingness to block shots.
Stamkos is not better than Toews but he is the best free agent to become available that would like to live in Toronto.

Umm...I'm pretty sure a Leaf fan on his period would know more about Stamkos than a bolts fan. Stamkos is worse than Kessel, how can the hockey world not know this?

Have you seen the price of playoff tickets?
I want the Leafs to fail because I don't want to go deeply in debt to watch them hoist the Stanley Cup. - Atomic Wedgie
I heard in a few years that Leaf games will be made available on TV for a fraction of the price. Not sure how true these rumours are though. Sports on TV? Sounds impossible to believe I know, but I heard it on the news the other day.

Everyone agrees with your point except EK's rumour list. If Bishop is traded at the draft, I believe it is possible that Stamkos resigns but not holding my breath. I think Stamkos signs with Toronto most likely.
