Laine cut his hair for the combine... maybe he got a hint that Lou doesn't like long haired boys.. |

I have always thought that Laine would come back into the discussion. Matthews is probably the better choice but Laine is going to be something very special and probably a big goal scorer from day one. |

I suppose it is just my way of saying "I told you so." But, that would not be polite or considerate of others so I will refrain from taking a victory lap.

by coming back into the discussion... do you mean ....
a) since Wednesday
b) since Tuesday
c) since last Saturday
and more importantly who and which discussion?
you kind of remind me of my mother when I was 10 - 12 years old... just because you repeat something say a hundred times... doesn't make it more likely to happen or more of a certainty. |

The Leafs and Tampa have already agreed to a trade for the rights of Steve Stamkos - deal is done and ink is dry. Not sure if he will be signed then formally traded or the Leafs will have the advantage with exclusive rights to speak with Stamkos pre FA. - leafmonkey
This is something I just can't understand. Why would we trade anything away to get Stamkos rights? He either wants to play in Toronto or he doesn't. Talking to him a week early won't sway things in our favour in my opinion. Don't waste assets for nothing. |

I have never said that they should take Laine over Matthews. What I said was they needed to do their diligent best to evaluate both players. Long term I think Matthews is the better choice. Short term however, Laine will likely burn up the league and be the easy winner of the Calder. It is about perspective. |

completely agree... I'm guessing folks are posting stuff like this because they don't want to read another 3 hour long blab on why the Leafs should take Laine ahead of Matthews or because they have had enough of Bernier goaltending debate. |

I find it somewhat ironic when people imply that I am saying something new or different. I have been a regular poster on the Leaf thread for 10 years. the mere fact that I have changed my team preference from Leafs to Sens does not mean that I am less interested in the fortunes of the Leafs.

Lupul may have a $5.25 cap hit but his salary is less than his cap hit.
A team looking to be above the cap floor could use him. |

Are you joking? Is this for real? You find it ironic?
Seems ironic that you think that...... You keep coming in here telling everyone the same thing, nothing new, nothing we don't already know, nothing we haven't aldready said. And then you claim it's new groundbreaking info and you claim to have changed minds?
So I ask again, are you delusional? |

In your defence you did tell me that you would want Ottawa to draft Matthews if they had the first pick. That bolded part however, is just a trash point. |
