The NHL has a history of making GREAT decisions. That's why hockey(or ice hockey if you're a dumbass american) is more popular than it has ever been. The NHL is more competitive than it has ever been. The NHL - both teams and players - are earning more money than they ever have.

There are so many great hockey players in the world today - there are easily enough to have 40+ teams in the NHL, but there may not be 40+ markets that could financially support it.

Adding one - and eventually two - new teams will not water down the talent and quality of teams.

Also you contradict yourself. "..increase scoring by adding garbage expansion teams".

"The format of expansion draft will make the expansion teams too competitive".

I am for expansion, I just think it's dumb to have an odd number of teams. Also, as proven by the fact that they constantly change the rules every single year, have no idea how to properly seed teams in the Playoffs or award points..not to mention the invention of the coaches challenge, and the complete lack of caring about player safety, I think it's safe to say the NHL makes terrible decisions...plus, you can't credit the league with growth of the game - credit that to the sport and the Players.

How did I contradict myself? One of the best things about expanding is increased scoring, but if you make the teams too good, that won't happen.

Tanguay stinks and probably is going to retire, no amount of fancy stats charts are going to make a 39 year old with bad knees relevant again
Kyle Wood is meh, good shot but injury bug is probably going to derail him for hitting his potential
Bleackley stinks...told you that long time ago, so Yotes did the right thing getting the 2nd round pick out of him instead.

Congrats you got a 2nd round pick and a mid level prospect for a rental.

you say he maybe massively undervalued. What makes you think the sabres who don't exactly have a great D will let him go on the cheap? What good does a mid round pick do for them?

Its a case of you like the player, want him on Arizona, and your being a fan and hoping you can get him cheaply. I don't think you will imo.

No, it's a case of NHL teams routinely undervalue players like him. The Leafs picked up a similar player from the Oilers - who have garbage defense and could have used him - in Martin Marincin. That's just a single example, but players who don't score and hit a ton get underrated. Maybe Buffalo knows this and wants to keep him, but he still makes an intriguing target.

With all due respect, and remember Tanner, I'm saying with all due respect, the Pet Shop Boys aren't worth a velvet painting of a whale & a dolphin getting it on.

not a Tanner fan at all but the Pet Shop Boys have some of the best synth-electronic pop songs ever written. saw them a couple of years ago at the house of blues and they were fantastic.

He cant skate anymore James, his body is wearing down. He cant stay onside when he is lined up with faster line mates, he really is just a corpse on the ice. He was awesome but hes not even close to the same guy he was 1-2 years ago. It would be a huge mistake to resign him taking up cap space and a roster space from a younger player, I hope he retires so he doesn't embarrass himself getting steam rolled and being forced to be healthy scratches over and over again.

Hes not a top 9 player anymore, and if he cant be that, why would you even put him on your roster
