5 mil per would almost be double his last contract, i agree though that in this day and age it may need to go that high. he does bring a lot of elements, and its really important that he still hasnt shown any signs of declining at 32, which makes me all the more confident of handing out 3 years as opposed to 2.

I would like to add Sceviour too but im secretly hoping konecny wows everyone and takes that 3rd line winger spot, maybe even a top 6 winger spot, pull a drouin possibly.

the main thing here is Hexy has us set up where the cap wont be a deterrent for us to sign someone, he has managed it as well as any executive in the whole league over the past 2 years.

what did carl soderberg get from the avs? i dont think hes an awful comparison. although id put neilsen as a nudge ahead.

50-50 I think on ConnectKnees. If he's ready, sure, I'd love to add him. That means Raffl or Schenn or Konecny would be on the third line. That'd be like Kessel on the third now though. It isn't a demotion, just ridiculous depth.

according to NESN was a 4.75 per for 5 years. hes also younger than Neilsen so the extra term probably dropped the AAV. so yea, maybe 5 mil is right on it.

i mean no slight against TB. they are legit. they are extremely deep. they dont even miss bishop because vaselievsky is such a stud and on his game right now. but the pens full on had 0 urgency for games 4 and 5. utter joke. should have never been in this situation.

tampa can totally go in there and walk out with a win. but yeah. ill certainly sign up for the pens walking out with a 4 goal win haha. i dont need style points. and fleury did a lot of good for the franchise. but i will be fine if i never see him in the net again for the team.

I always admire guys like VDV, who come in and create a role for themselves. But like the Kent Mandervilles and Jody Hulls of the world, you have to know when to fold them

This game continues to evolve. I would never have imagined, so many years ago, that the game would be what it has been at various points of time

But right now, skating and puck possession are at a premium. You have to be able to move, you have to be able to suppress shots or generate them

The model of the "trustworthy fourth line that doesn't hurt you" -- the game is evolving past that. They have to be able to do something tangible, something that is more than chemistry

Someone mentioned the Madden-Brylin-Pandolfo line. That's the kind of line you have to be looking for every seasons, and I can still admire VDV for playing in the NHL and still acknowledge that he is a player who the Flyers absolutely should be looking to upgrade -- it shouldn't even be a question

Uncle Gary will come down with the "newest" version of the rulebook which the league forgot to send to the refs prior to the game. The new one is just like the existing one, but has red sharpie omitting that rule.

I've been pretty spoiled for decade in terms of having pretty decent 4th line players. The current 4th line is probably the worst I've ever seen in all my years as a fan. I'm counting the days, the minutes, the seconds for Vandevelde's release from this team.
